It been years since a visit to the The Lexington and it was a pleasure to find it better than ever. The service was second to none, the food was prepared beautifully and the atmosphere exuded cozy sophistication. Highly recommended!

One of the original, main dinner destinations in the city of St. Paul. Not only a landmark but an establishment important enough to be recently reborn. Walking through the front doors will take you back to a time when dining out was truly a treat...More

First trip back to the Lex since it re-opened after an ownership change. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the classic decor had been left. We had six in our party to celebrate my son's birthday. Food selections encompassed classic eggs benedict, salmon eggs...More

The atmosphere is inviting. I would have loved a room with the chandeliers though. Our reserved table wasn't ready when we arrived. Our service was good, and I am always impressed that no one's water glass ever goes empty. Everyone was happy with their meal....especially...More

Finally had a chance to go to the 'new' Lexington. My expectations were high given my decades of eating there and the new higher price point. We had reservations. The host attempted to seat us in the former smoking lounge that had the ambiance of...More

Went to dinner on a cold and rainy evening. Originally reserved a table in the dining room, decided last minute to change reservation to the bar. This was done without any problem. Arrived before 5:30 and our table was ready. We decided to try multiple...More

This is no longer the 'Old Lexington'. First of all, we were seated in the bar/lounge and NOT in the dining room. Front hostess was rather abrupt, as we arrived five or seven minutes prior to our reservation time. She basically told us to wait...More

They were so packed that the 6 of us sat at the back bar. The bartender was great! (She has a cross tattoo.) My husband & I shared the oysters, chicken pot pie & seafood salad platter. Everything was great! We also had an old...More

We met up with some friends for an evening out. The drinks were amazing, the service fantastic, the appetizer (relish tray) was good and then......the main entrees were disappointing....for all four of us. We will be back but not for dinner.

Went on a Friday around 6:00. Lively atmosphere but the noise is too much for casual conversation. It's a bit brighter than the old version, but definitely on the lous side. Had Beet salad (Vinegarette dressing was way too intense overpowering the greens and the...More

The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 20th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. For decades following, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites. The new, elevated menu will bring back supper club favorites, like the relish tray, chicken pot pie, and popovers along with some new interpretations of classic dishes like the pot roast. The cocktail menu is no different; offering a new riff on classic cocktails like an old fashioned, a brandy slush and an ever-changing social hour punch of the day. Now, more than 80 years later, we invite you to be part of the legacy - whether it’s your first visit or you’re returning to reminisce about the past. We invite you make new memories or revive old traditions as the familiar landmark welcomes you back. Welcome to The Lexington!
