In town for the week on business and will be coming back for the next few months and I'll definitely be going back to The Little Dooey. I had some of the catfish with coleslaw, corn on the cob and hush puppies. Everything tasted great!! Some of the best catfish I've had in a while. I'm not big on hush... More

We usually enjoy going to The Little Dooey but it appears that hey have fallen into the same trap as a few other places. We tried to have lunch here on a Sunday and made a special trip. We arrived prior to closing time and two separate signs showed that they were "OPEN". Unfortunately, we were informed by the staff... More

Loved the pulled pork, most of all the hush puppies were excellent. I stopped almost every day that I was in Starkville just for those hush puppies. The catfish, mac n cheese, the greens everything was great, along with nice portions.

The Little Dooey is a Starkville/MSU tradition. Their food is excellent and the atmosphere very laid back, just like Stark vegas. Their prices are very affordable, and they always have a combo or special for the day. BBQ, catfish, chicken, or poboys. Whatever southern treat you want you can get it here. Must order the fried green tomato's! They have... More

Great food and fun atmosphere; it does cost a little more than budget restaurants, but you get more food than you can possibly eat.

A must see if you're visiting Starkville. My 2 1/2 yr old grand daughter picked it tonight for family dinner. Try the barbecue combo if you need quick food or the ham sandwich. The catfish is amazing but may take a while to get served as it is cooked when ordered during busy times. Large lot for parking across the... More

I always love it when I get a chance to eat at The Little Dooeys in Starkville. The one in Columbus is also terrific. I love their catfish but have tried a lot of things on the menu and everything has been good that I have tried. Sides are delicious too such as the baked beans, potato salad etc.

Fun is a family recipe.

Originating in Starkville, Mississippi, The Little Dooey™ has become the most popular barbeque destination in the region, attracting regular, local diners and guests from all over the country. The menu was created around the time-honored recipes and sauces of the founders, Margaret Ann , Barry & Bart Wood. The name for the restaurant is also a Wood Family tradition where “a little dooey” means a fun gathering of friends and family.

The Wood’s began The Little Dooey™ in 1985, by serving their homemade barbeque and sauce at a local service station. The response from customers was overwhelming, and soon the growing local demand for their delicious food prompted them to open the first restaurant in Starkville which became an instant success. The Wood’s credit their accomplishments to their family, friends and dedicated staff who set The Little Dooey™ apart, making it a comfortable and fun place to eat.

Don’t forget to pick up some sauce! Or, call us to order your favorite.
