First visit to Hartleys even though it's only 1 mile away Very busy this morning but you have to say that's a good thing. Had lots of fresh coffee top ups while waiting for my full English but it was worth the wait. Great food and fantastic staff. Plenty of parking very clean & well worth a visit 5 *****

Hartley's was recommended to us by a friend. We had driven past a few times but not really noticed it before. We were welcomed by Bentley - the "Meet and Greet" dog ( a yellow Labrador who was very polite and friendly -unlike the 2 black ones we have at home!) We were quickly shown a table and given menus.... More

From the moment we Canadians set foot inside the converted former cow barn now restaurant, to the completion of our dining experience, we loved it. The food was amazing. The atmosphere, and attention from the owner and servers was most appropriate and memorable. I observed that Paul Hartley has the ability to make all his patrons feel special, personally engaging... We visited Hartleys Kitchen a few weeks ago; my mouth is still watering from the Sunday Lunch we had there. Beautifully presented and perfectly cooked food. The roast beef and chicken was lovely accompanied by a good selection of vegetables. I had a jam roly-poly with (proper) custard for dessert: Jam was homemade (it smelt so nice that you could... We popped in here for lunch today and received lovely service. My 18 month old niece was catered for with no problems and the staff even provided books and a few toys for her. Excellent food, huge range of choice and our desserts were delicious. Thank you to the chef and ladies, we will be coming back- I'd highly recommend... More

My son and I popped in on a bike ride for a light snack. We had intended to go to the excellent Masbury's (Rocky Mountain) but, sadly, it was closed due to a fire. Ironically it was due to reopen the following day (3rd March). At Hartley's Bistro I asked the owner if they could do Beans on Toast (a... More

Tictactoeherewego, Here at Hartleys Kitchen we try to provide great freshly cooked homemade food served in a reasonable time frame. However on this occasion we were fully booked with 75 covers over the lunch period, we had no tables free inside hence why we offered you the only tables free which were outside and you were warned about long delays... We visited today for the first time and enjoyed 4 x English breakfasts this morning, tea, coffee & toast. All perfectly presented with good personal table service. Will visit again, recommended next time on the Mendips.

There are some things that money can't buy We went to our local nursery to discover that the cafe had suffered from fire and so we looked round for someone else to go and I'm so glad we did. The people who took over this cowshed eight years ago have transformed it into a tasteful restaurant that would not be... More
