This place tries to be a high end business dinner place but food is average. The sea food platter was kind of small and most of the oysters had broken shells. The deep fried ravioli were dry and uninspired. The seafood pasta had two over...More

Our party of four enjoyed a business lunch at Cafe Napoli. The restaurant atmosphere afforded us the opportunity to easily talk shop over great Italian fare. Service was friendly and accommodating. I tried the tortellini pasta which was very good. Two at our table tried...More

Try caprese salad with giant slices on fresh mozzarella cheese on tomatoes and nice basil pesto dressing. The ravioli was excellent and the prawn appetizers looked very big. I enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake. This was an event which was held in a private room....More

Quite friendly restaurant with great food and excellent service! The Saltimbocca is really good! A must restaurant to visit when in Saint Louis!

I've tried Cafe Napoli a couple of times and thought the food is average on both trips. The service is great, though - very attentive and knowledgeable.

An amazing dinner! Every part of the meal was excellent. The prices were higher than what I normally am use to but it was definitely worth the treat. Everything from the salad and soup (both excellent), to the main dish (scallops and risotto), to the...More

When asked.."what are favorite restaurants in St. Louis", we typically reply that we have a list of 12-15 standards that we prefer, and work off that list as new restaurants come to the market. Napoli is in our list of 'standards' because they are consistently...More

We thoroughly enjoyed a lively and lovely dinner of delicious Italian favorites and one rather new entree. After a fun appetizer of the traditional St Louis favorite, toasted ravioli (delish!), I selected veal Milanese and my husband chose veal saltimbocca. Both veal dishes were very...More

The food was below average and the service was terrible, so I recommended to go somewhere else. People were treated like cattle.

I am not sure what hotel you are staying out to know if they provide any type of shuttle service. If you are staying at a hotel located in the immediate Clayton area you can walk to Cafe Napoli. If you are in a surrounding... More

Description
When Tony Pietoso opened the original Cafe Napoli in the '80s, it quickly became a success. So Successful, in fact, that it moved to a bigger location at 7754 Forsyth Blvd. The restaurant continued to flourish with its generous portions of regional Italian specialties. Cafe Napoli has recently undergone a facelift and has added Bar Napoli next door. The swank cocktail lounge has soft lighting and a separate wine room that can accommodate 30 diners. The kitchen is headed by chef Jeff Davis, who has been with the restaurant for several years. Fortunato Pietoso, Tony's brother, has also returned to the kitchen. Tony makes rounds chatting with customers, many of whom appear to be on a first-name basis with him. The sons Ande and Kye split their time between the Bar and Cafe, as they are being groomed to take over the family business. Cafe Napoli is a must visit when in the St. Louis area. Some guests include Tony Bennett, Gloria Estefen, Joe Torre and Arnold Palmer to name a few.
