We had dourada and rodovalho in the grill, both of super good quality. The place is simple and unpretentious, giving a good feeling of local authenticity. We found it overpriced, there are multiple places in the Algarve providing the same quality of fish and with "local" prices. We met Sr Lourenço the owner, very nice person and serving with kindness.

We have eaten out at a different 'tripadvisor recommended' restaurant in the area every day since we arrived 4 days ago and this one is by far the best. Excellent service, authentic Portuguese food, honest flavors and super fresh ingredients. Never tasted mussels this fresh. We might break our own rule and go back there again before our holiday is... If you go in the evening we would suggest that you sit inside as it can get very chilly! They do provide blankets! Good choice of very fresh local fish. Service was excellent and very friendly. Good choice of wines.

Best seafood in the area and great service. Book well in advance because it is very small and in high demand.

Good fresh fish well cooked in this small but busy restaurant. There is an outside seating area for warm evenings.

Dish of the day was Mackerel, which was magnificent, served with buttery potatoes and salad. Generous portions, and great value for money, cooked perfectly, and served to our party in the lovely outside sun-trap, along with nice hugs of Vino Verde, and Sagres beers! The meat eaters also enjoyed the pork spare ribs and Piri Piri chicken.

I asked Peter who lives in Lagos for recommending a restaurant where we could enjoy a typical lunch – no upscale. He came up with Lourenco, located in the village Salema close to the sea, 15min drive from Lagos to the West. The small restaurant was packed. We did find a place and ordered just for tasting a “draft Vinho... More

There is nothing fancy about Lourenco's. The room is small and rather plain (although there are some fascinating photographs of Salema before the developers got to work on it), and the cooking is good, honest Algarvian fare. The restaurant's USP is grilled fish. One of the waiters will bring an enormous platter of fish to each new arrival, from which... More

A very windy day but outside O Lorenco was a delightful sun trap. We have driven by on two previous occasions and had noticed that the same couple was having their lunch there each time which seemed like a recommendation. Today, we just wanted something light. We had two lovely salads, a prawn and a tuna. Both were beautifully presented,... More
