We have a number of really good BBQ restaurants in the Joplin area so this one is just average, some items are quite good, be selective with the BBQ. So why go here, and we do quite often for the Cajun food. It's not Lafayette, LA but it is by far the best Cajun you will get anywhere close to... More

I go here every Tuesday that I am in Joplin for 1/2 price rib platter nights. Great place for ribs especially the dry rub and the sides. Ordered the burnt ends and got what looked like a kids portion nothing to rant and rave about.

Monday at Red Hot and Blue is half price wings day and the boneless wings are my favorite. But the bone-in are really good, too! Usually Sesn is working in the bar area on Monday and this Monday I was glad he was! He is such a conscientious, courteous, helpful waitperson! Always great service. Great wings, too An easy decision... More

The first time my wife and I tried this restaurant, we were really disappointed in the service and left before we even had a chance to order. That was a few years ago. We decided to give it another go and had an amazing dinner! We have been back twice since. The food is great, reasonable prices, and to my... More

RH&B has it's faithful followers and it's good but it's not my go to place. It has the feel and quality of a chain restaurant while there are other locally owned places in town that do a much better job. However, if you're going as part of a crowd, it's a good choice. They can accommodate a large group.

I have to say I have never had a bad meal here but I just can't stand the wait times and slow service when they are busy which is just about every night on the weekends.

Our visit was during the early afternoon on Labor Day 2016. We expected it to be more crowded but the service was great and the bbq was excellent. And the Onion Loaf is a definite must if you love onion rings. They were playing some really great blues but you could barely hear it. They have several tv's to watch... More

Food was just ok. Service was just ok. I had a burger and French fries. Nothing to brag about but nothing really to complain about. But no reason to go back. Small beer selection!

Thank Tracy W

Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
