A local icon, Winstead's is my go-to for a steakburger. Love their onion rings, and malts. Nearly always use their fairly swift drive-through. Going in late-night after a function with friends is fun too.

I live in KC and come here all the time. If you are visiting Kansas City, find this place and you will love it! I ate breakfast here this morning with friends. One had a breakfast sandwich, another biscuits and gravy and I had good...More

A trip to Winstead's -- this original location -- is a trip back to "Happy Days." Love the juke box; love the streamline Art Deco touches; but, best of all, I love those thin steakburgers (I get a double) and a cherry soda.

We went as part of a tour. Retro drive in but the food was forgettable. Burger and chili were not very good. Shake was very good. Other reviews said great burgers. In and Out is much better

We both had burgers (of course). They seemed dry. The fries were just ok. The best part of the meal was a chocolate malt. The place was nearly full on a Saturday evening and seemed a bit understaffed.

I Love the single burger here. Simple, cheap and yummy and available 24 hours a day. The onion rings are super crispy. The shakes are good. The pancakes are okay. The biscuits and gravy were terrible, with flavorless gravy and dough biscuits - should have...More

This restaurant has its own parking lot just off the Plaza. It is a burger and malt joint that has been around forever. I would suggest lunch as the neighborhood gets iffy at night. You can take the kids.

If you haven't visited yet, this is a must. It is a retro-styled diner with great food. Watch out for the onions, as they put a whole slice on burgers. I love their limeades which they top off with a scoop of lime sherbert.

A fun old fashioned burger joint near the country club plaza. We went in early March with my niece and nephew. My nephew and I got burgers, but my wife and niece are weirdos. My niece got a grilled cheese at at burger joint -...More
