This was a fun stop as we were leaving to go back home from the "boys" trip I take with my sons every year. My 9 and 11 year olds had a lot of fun reading all the signs around the dinning room, and the staff were great. The food was very good, and the giant pancake is VERY giant, biggest I have ever ordered. Great local joint, support the small guy!

This is a great little breakfast joint. The servings are huge. My wife and I had to share our order of Chicken Fried Chicken and we still had food left over. While in Laurie for our weekend there, we ate there twice. We will be back.

Busy place but food came out quickly and was good over several days. Had breakfast and lunch. Breakfast all day and that's the way to go.

Second visit here, loved it again, trust me you won't be disappointed! We had breakfast and lunch entrees and both were very good. The tenderloin is nicely breaded. All of the sides were very good. Will be coming back, many, many times!

Looking for a lunch spot and just happened to notice Val's, we've lived in the lake area for over 20 years and missed this great restaurant - a local favorite. Service was cheerful and excellent, food was served hot and promptly. I really enjoyed my turkey burger, normally they are dry but this was not. Spouse had a great hamburger, just enough food - not too much - not too little. Next time we try breakfast!

Val’s is one of those quaint little restaurants that is a treasure to find. It’s run by a mom and her daughters. Home cooking is the specialty but the tenderloins are definitely the star. They’re more than twice as big as a standard bun! Any restaurant can purchase big pieces of meat but it’s the preparation that tells the story. Crispy coating cooked to perfection around a juicy piece of meat. No gummy goo around the meat to be found! They are great as a sandwich but shine for breakfast served with gravy. Definitely not on the low cal side of the menu but a real treat when you decide to splurge. We’ve travelled to The Lake for years and usually make Val’s our breakfast on the way back to the real world. We’ve never been disappointed. The weekends are busy, busy, busy. Go early to avoid a wait or sleep in and enjoy relaxing on the benches outside and visiting with your neighbor while you wait to be seated. It’s worth the wait!

Looking for a moderately priced establishment with a good traditional menu and portions? Give Val’s a try for breakfast or lunch. It’s a long time favorite among both locals and tourists. You won’t be disappointed!!!
