Carmellta's has wonderful food! The excellent service and great tasting food makes this the best Mexican food you will find. We have had Enchiladas camaron twice and last night we had the Stake . This was a 12 oz ribeye stake that was so tender, covered in cheese with rice and beans, all for $21.99. This wonderful dinner would cost much more elsewhere.
The service is excellent, you drink glass will never reach empty, servers are polite and friendly. The place fills up pretty quickly and its become a favorite place to eat for lots of Mexican fool lovers. I highly recommend Carmellta's. Try it you too will agree with somany who have become loyal customers.

I waited to review until we had been there enough to have something to say. We have dined in twice, sitting far from others and wearing masks, and ordered take out twice also. Every time it was fantastic! The staff were wearing masks, and they did a great job of bleaching and cleaning tables and chairs. Love that!!! Thank you.... everything we tried so far has been the best at the lake. We are so happy that they are just 5 minutes away for us. Please keep up the good work and keep following CDC rules. More customers appreciate that more than you know.

This restaurant building has reopened under new management and it's a great upgrade. We were visiting it the area and wanted to try it, being new. The service was excellent as was the food. We met friends there and all four were very satisfied. The men both ordered steak fajitas and the women had chicken dishes. Our waitress, a member of the management family, was delightful and very efficient. Business was good and many of the tables and booths were occupied however we were allowed to stay for an extended visit. Our waitress accommodated by taking our photo. Other staff even relocated a bench to near some wall art for additional photo ops. Overall the experience was wonderful.

So sorry to leave a bad review but....this is not what we expected. Not sure how to explain this food actually. I have never had a enchilada served without enchilada sauce before this. This was unseasoned hot (possibly warmed over) shredded chicken wrapped up in a tortilla with cheese dip poured over the top. No enchilada sauce in sight. My husbands was the same although his was ground beef. Horrible and tasteless. The refried beans had a odd taste to them which we could not identify. A tamale was served without sauce also and some mini ground hamburger meat on top along with the cheese dip. The rice was tasteless The only positive thing to say about this place was the chips and salsa. Better just stick with those. We have eaten Mexican food all over this country. This was by far the worst we have ever had. Mexican?? I think not!! The waitress was not all that friendly either and did not offer a beverage refill. She picked up the full plates of food which we did not eat and did not have one comment. Does this happen often? I wonder. Doesn't matter...we will never be back.

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Thursday. We were in the area and used Trip Advisor to check reviews on Mexican Restaurants. We were not disappointed. The decor and general appearance of the restaurant isn't just great, but the service and food was just fine. They have a large menu with lunch specials and we both ordered burritos. I like the fact that they came with a white cheese sauce rather than the red sauce. The chips were fresh and tasty and the salsa was delicious. I tend to judge a Mexican restaurant by its salsa. I like cilantro and this salsa had plenty! The prices were definitely reasonable, about $10.50 for a 12-inch burrito. We each brought home half to enjoy some other time. We will definitely return again.

We have enjoyed many visits to Carmelita's since it first opened. This is a family run restaurant. That family takes pride in it's food and service and it shows. Our last visit was a continuation of our expectations. It was a busy night but the food and service were again excellent. This particular gathering was the first with two very good friends, only. It was very comfortable to know that the food would be good, no matter what was ordered. All four of us agreed that the food and service was excellent. Some enjoyed margaritas and commented on the great taste.

We have ate tons of other Mexican restaurants and have been to Mexico 15+ times. Carmelita’s is is the exception, best Mexican cuisine we have had anywhere. Their food is delicious. Their service is quick and their drinks are amazing. We try to go at least once every few weeks and have never had a bad meal.

The jiba burrito is exceptional with shrimp in every bite! The margs and salsa are fresh and delish! The ceviche dip is my fave with the perfect amount of lime! Our server Brittini could not have been more fun! Carmalitas has definitely became our go to restaurant for impeccable food and service!!!! 10/10

Really good Mexican cuisine and affordable as well. We really enjoy the meals we’ve had here and visit this restaurant frequently. The restaurant also has a connected bar that serves food as well.

My wife and I had dinner at Carmelita’s yesterday and loved it! Food and drinks were excellent and the service as well. Much better food and service than the now defunct Sunrise Cantina. This was our first visit but will return soon.

We were seated and served quickly on a busy weekend evening. Service was friendly and efficient. Drinks and chips were kept full. Food arrived quickly, orders were correct, food was excellent. I look forward to returning.

The sickly sweet, overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals was so nauseating that I could not tolerate being in there, let alone eating. Awful. Will not go back.

We have come here many many times. We always get really great quality food with huge portions for great prices. We have watched this restaurant flourish from the ground up and it is really great to see. They have hired a lot more employees to help keep up with their demand. They have a large menu, however we get the carmelita's fajitas, the carnitas, the gringo burrito, and the chimichangas. They are all fabulous. We also love getting the jumbo margarita. It is 47 oz for $13, which is a great deal! They have many flavors but the standard one is so delicious! They are busy every time we come in so be prepared for a small wait, but they do a good job of turning over the tables efficiently. Everyone we encounter from the hosts, to the servers, to the assistants/runners who give you more chips are all so friendly and helpful. This is midwest mexican, so for example the chimichanga comes stuffed with only chicken, and the rice/beans/lettuce/guac is all on the side to mix with. The service has always been great here even though they are super busy. We really love the chips and salsa because we like thin chips and blended salsa. It has a lot of flavor to it. Overall, we keep coming back because everything is consistently great. Just one thing to note, if you want extra tortillas for your fajitas or extra salsa to-go, it is extra. And I don't mean a little bit extra, so just go in knowing that.
