Great place. Friendly staff. Good food. Great wrap around porch and yard area for blankets or chairs.

We stopped here in the fall of 2016 before a show at another venue. It was a nice space with a bit of a menu. The gals pouring the wine were very nice. The food was average but I guess it is a winery :-) and not known for the food! Looks like a good event space.

Beautiful atmosphere but service was horrible! Actually our server was a very nice young man but the bar tender & manager/owner/supervisor (not sure what her title was) were very rude. Waited almost 2 hours for food and when we went to the counter to inquire about when our food would be ready we were told they were busy (there were... More

My BF and I have been to numerous wineries. The Barrens is what you would expect of a small town winery. We shared a bottle of "Embarrass" wine which had a label stating it was made in Steelville, MO. I guess any vineyards at The Barrens are just for show. We shared a chicken fajita wrap which was doused in... More

Nice building, neat place. We stopped in one evening on our way to Perryville and had a drink and ordered appetizers. My husband is not a wine person, but I am, so they offered me a few samples to see what I would like. Honestly, did not like any of them. I only had one glass of wine and it... More

The Barrens Winery is a beautiful building with lots of outdoor seating. I visited last Saturday which happened to be a 70-degree February day. It was beautiful to sit on the porch and enjoy wine and lunch. The food is really good, and there is a nice variety of items. The atmosphere is great; the workers and owner very friendly.... More

My wife and I and another couple went for a drive from St louis to the Barrens on a Wednesday in Nov.. Our first impression of the winery was that it was in a beautiful setting. There was a park like setting in front and in the back was rolling hills of farm land. Just beautiful. The building it self... More

Sunday afternoon at the winery was perfect! We sat outside which is out of direct sun with a view of the beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed their flatbread (yummy) and Sangria. Will definitely return!

Great place to not only stop and drink wine, but have a lunch or dinner as well. I love going here especially on nice days when you can sit outside.

Beautiful setting and venue, but the day we were there, service was extremely slow (we waited almost an hour for sandwiches, and then the fries were not quite cooked). Small selection of wines, but what we had was good.
