My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated in the open air patio area. Despite the full house and electric atmosphere, we were able to enjoy an intimate conversation and evening. My wife had the salmon and I had the pork chop,...More

What an awesome place. Inside is very nostalgic with a lot of woodwork. It was the outdoor patio that was breathtaking. Numerous bars, water fountains, the gardens were amazing. Going there after a long day of work definitely transformed me into another time and place....More

Great Irish pub - perfect Irish pub atmosphere with excellent food. Corned beef was delicious. Cabbage was a little hard, perhaps undercooked.

On our 2-day whirlwind tour of St. Louis, we stumbled upon McGurk's. We weren't looking for a bar scene, so we were pleasantly surprised that we found some really good Irish food in a casual dining setting! The Guinness stew was delicious, but I couldn't...More

My friends and I always come here after one of us gets a tattoo as a sort of celebratory ritual. The place has terrific food and good historical ambiance. The inside is lovely, as are their gardens. The only thing that is kind of difficult...More

When a friend recommended this place, I was expecting classic Irish dining...what we got was a pub with a palate. We had the homemade chips with malt vinegar which were so delicious as a starter. I had the bangers and mash. The bangers were homemade...More

I've only been there for lunch and there was no music. I'm sorry I can't help answer your question. Food is amazing, though. Now I'm hungry for their Rueben--beat I've ever eaten.

Description
Established in 1978 as a one room pub house, John D. McGurk’s Irish Pub and Garden has risen to the top of the class among the Irish Pubs in St. Louis. In fact, Esquire Magazine, in its June, 2011 Edition, saluting the best bars in America, chose John D. McGurk’s as its only bar honored in the city of St. Louis.

McGurk’s is known throughout the Midwest for its great Irish music, food, drink, and its 10,000 square foot outdoor garden, complete with breathtaking landscaping, a fountain, a waterfall, and two terrific outdoor bars. Inside and out, McGurk’s is nearly 20,000 square feet of pure Irish fun.

Irish musicians entertain the patrons nightly, traveling to St. Louis from Galway to Dublin, Cork to Derry.

The inside of McGurks is a series of strung together dining rooms and bars. Its brick and wood décor with wonderful Irish artifacts makes one think they are enjoying a pub in Dublin.

McGurk’s has become a great place to celebrate special occasions like rehearsal dinners and private banquets.

McGurk’s has all the available Irish beer and spirits and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. In addition to typical pub grub, McGurk’s offers wonderful steaks, assorted fish entrees, pasta specialties, and a delightful rack of lamb.

Great food, drink, and entertainment make McGurk’s a memorable stop. We look forward to raising a pint with you upon your next visit. Sláinte!
