Right across from the hotel on the highway, walking distance. Went there for a steak dinner thinking prime rib, porterhouse, and some other steaks. Didn't find anything so had a beer at the bar instead and shared a hamburger.
Had a nice family dinner here. Staff was very professional and attentive. Steaks are always good, but this time I tried the pork chop and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly and served with mash and veggies. The rest of the family enjoyed the steaks and...pasta.More
This was a great place in the past. Our waitress to busy talking to her drunk friends at the bar then serving us. All our food was cold. It was a horrible dinner on my wife's birthday. So to you who work at Winchester thanks...alot!!More
We were in town to visit Glacier National Park and wanted a special steak dinner. All 3 of us had steaks cooked perfectly to order! I had the filet mignon, my husband had the NY Strip, and ourson had the rib eye. It is unusual...for us to go to a restaurant and to have all our steaks cooked perfectly. In addition, the smoked salmon appetizers and the baked potatoes, mashed potatoes and even the broccoli were all delicious. We noticed that there were a lot of local couples eating dinner there on a Saturday
night, which is always a good sign. We would highly recommend it.More
The special for the night was hanger steak. I was assured that the chef knows how to prepare and cook the steak so that it will be wonderful. It was tough. The mashed potatoes that came with the steak tasted like they were created from...boxed instant potatoes, the dinner rolls were dry-I had to take small bites so I wouldn't choke. The Chicken Fettuccine had a pasty texture and the chicken tasted as though it came from a frozen chicken bag. The Caesar Salad had too much dressing. Now for the good points. There were only 2 other couples at the tables so we didn't have to worry about a large crowd and long wait. The broccoli, water and mixed drinks were good. Also, the waitress provided very good service. I felt sorry for her since she had to represent the food she had to serve us. The Winchester Steak House use to be great. It is heartbreaking and sad to see a great place ruined.More
Went to Winchester Steakhouse to have a nice steak dinner with family. Very noisy even though not many people there for a Friday night. Food has gone downhill drastically. No more Top Sirloin served there so went with the Fillet Minion. Steak was way over...cooked. Well done instead of Medium. Baked potato not done and the garlic mashed potatoes cold, the sting beans were pretty raw. Very expensive. Server was pleasant but that will be our last time going to this restaurant.More
We had a nice family dinner, and our waiter, Joe, made our experience pleasurable. The food was excellent-prime rib, Filets and Salmon were prepared with care. The clam chowder was excellent and the salads were fresh. Nice atmosphere for a quiet family meal.
The Winchester used to be our favorite place to eat in the valley. Anniversaries, birthdays were always there. Great food from beginning to end. Not any more. The bread used to be great. Now it's a cheap store bought roll. Think King's Hawaiian without any...flavor. No prime rib on the menu anymore and the menu seems smaller. Heart breaking. The steaks we had were excellent which was the one bright spot. The mashed potatoes are thin and seem to be instant. Gone are the good desserts. Prices have gone up substantially. The staff appears to have completely turned over from years past. I didn't know a single person working there. This used to be a great place to eat. The beef is still good but the rest is blah, average at best. Really sad.More
Birthday dinner. We all had steaks that were cooked to perfection. Shrimp cocktail had huge and firm shrimp. This restaurant should advertise more. Locals forget about it and drive to Whitefish. You dont have to now. They have a new Chef Ken. Carrot Cake was...over the top... Service was on top of our every need.More
