We arrived for lunch a little after eleven. Sign in the window said "open". The door appeared to be locked. A pedestrian walking past the corner noticed that we looked confused and called out "She just went to the Credit Union. She will be back in a few minutes". And she was. Only in a small town. The building is over a hundred years old. So it is no surprise that the floor in places resembles the hill and dales of the surrounding farm land. If you have a few drinks at the bar and head for the bathroom you may wonder how many you had as you navigate the floor. Plenty of table and chairs in a rural atmosphere. The menu is limited, but on the other side it is full with the listing of all the pizzas available. We started by ordering a plate of boneless ribs to share (they were excellent). My wife and I shared an eight inch meat lovers pizza which was plenty for us. The girls had the chicken burgers. Everything arrived promptly and the food was good. Compared with the city, I thought the prices were a bit high. But then so are the prices in the local grocery store when compared with the big city. The cafe on main street is still closed, so if you want to have a sit down lunch, there is not much choice. We were there a year ago when a hungry work crew came in off the highway. Kitchen was suddenly very busy, but food was still prepared promptly. It appeared that one of the crew had worked at the restaurant at some time in the past, and when the meals were ready she jumped into action and expertly brought out all the meals for the guys before siting down to eat herself. Only in a small town.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked into the Elkhorn. It doesnt look great from the outside. The inside is renovated...somewhat. We ordered an all meat pizza... it was about a 40 minute wait but when we got it we were extremely pleased. It was one of the best pizzas that we have ever had. The crusts are made fresh.... they are perfect. The toppings are generous with an abundance if cheese and cooked to perfection. Our server was fantastic. Quick drink refills and pleasant conversation. This is a place worth stopping at for pizza!

Great steak . Great parking for semis. Old building , but you can see some pride when someone takes a old run down hotel and makes you feel welcome. Great friendly staff and theres a abm because you cant pay with plastic . And the atmosphere is very good more locals go here for sure.

We happened to come to rural Morse on our way to Calgary from Regina, to fill up on gas, and all the signs along the road leading to Morse had me curious, due to the 'Punjabi Dhaba' element. I couldn't resist insisting we stop over for lunch. They start serving at 1pm. They have an eclectic menu for ALL but I was interested in their Punjabi fare, as to find something out in the middle of the highway, was like finding a jewel in the hay. Well its a jewel in the hay for sure!! The service was outstanding. The time to get food was fairly quick. I have to say, their food was leaps and bounds more flavourful and nuanced than most Indian restaurants in 'Little India' in Toronto. Nuanced and layered flavours. Even their garlic Naan bread was less thick than other places that just serve the doughy version, but this had so much more flavour and was still the perfect vessel for the curry. I ordered the Saag Paneer, being a spinach fan, and the Paneer was the most amazing texture of chew, but also creamy. The curry itself was out of this world. I had leftovers, the quantity was so much. We also ordered the Lamb curry and it was unreal. To go with the curries, we tried the Chicken Biryani, which was really yummy. Any Biryani is really some protein mixed with rice and veggies and Indian spices. You can't go wrong. We added the Raita (typical yogurt with minced tomatos, cucumber and onion ) to cool down our palettes which is really a condiment and adds to the flavours. Now....when ordering....you should go for the 'spicy' version (they will ask...or you should state it) and not 'regular'....because spicy means its the authentic flavour. ITS not off the charts hot on your tongue---just the real deal. Regular is for people who are timid, at best. Don't be timid:). Trust me....Their dishes are served in lovely copper pots with matching spoons. A lovely touch. So that was alot of food for two people, along with about 4 beers, hence the price point. Well worth it. You can do much less, or even order from the other menu. The ambiance is somewhat dated, and lack lustre, but who cares right? You're really in a Rural place, and its the food and service that mattered. Even some of the beer drinkers around us were super curious about what we were eating - so hopefully we turned them onto trying the 'real deal' on the menu!! Parking: lots of room for Big Rigs, Trucks, you name it. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 Recommended dishes Curried Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Raita, Roti Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot

Food is excellent. We typically order pizza to go. It's an old building in a small town. It doesn't look like much but the pizza is delicious!

I don't usually criticize small town bars too harshly, but this was by far the worst one I've been to yet. The exterior is an inviting piece of heritage, regardless of how run-down it may look. The interior, however, is a totally different story. It's a mess, chairs and such strewn about. I also had to struggle to find a clean table that had been wiped down properly. My fresh beer in its bottle was sticky and gross, and you would think a bartender would wipe it off once they felt that themselves? The atmosphere was almost immediately negative and uninviting when I got inside, and the locals and staff acted very inclusive. Finally, the owner and bartender, had me wait at the counter with what seemed like zero regard to serve me for almost five minutes while she had no projects going. She very rudely asked me what I wanted and had no concept of what domestic beer was, which is fine enough. I elaborated, and she refused to tell me what kinds of beer she had. I had to just ask for the strongest beer she had, a concept she seemed to ponder awhile before she thrust it onto the counter, took my twenty dollars and returned my change without a word. The service was absolutely abhorrent with no regard for the customers, the building was not clean and the beer was expensive. I would absolutely not recommend.

This is an interesting place. Decor and furniture is like something out of the 1950's. They were surprised when I asked for a cup of tea and it seemed it would be a lot of work for them. I had a glass of water with my hamburger and fries instead. food was cooked fresh, fries were OK. Hamburger was edible.

It is Morse Saskatchewan ... not a large metropolis. The old 'hotel' itself is pretty much an historical landmark .. lots of building history !!! It is a local establishment and it has lots of character in so many ways. The floors are crooked .. the conversations lively ... the food is good ... beer is cold. What more does a person want ? If you are driving by on the highway and you don't know whether to wander into Morse ? I would to go here. (like all those prairie towns you now have to turn off the highway to get to them rather than drive thru them)
