It’s becoming increasingly rare to find a picturesque country pub that hasn’t completely sold its soul as a gastropub with no space for drinkers. The Red Lion has a bar and a cosy log fire with comfy seating around it. The larger dining area also...More

Travelling from Yeovil to Bath on a Sunday afternoon and dropped in on the offchance. Very welcoming but would have liked to have seen pork as an option; however the food was good and served promptly. Definitely a bit pricey but cheap Sunday lunches are...More

Reading some of the other reviews I’m a bit surprised as I head a great experience dropping in for dinner. Unfortunately, beer is pricey these days wherever you go and the barman here was knowledgable in recommending a local ale to try. I’d recommend sticking...More

Dear Luke 2208, Thank you so much for your kind words, and so glad you enjoyed your visit with us. Unfortunately we are fair game on this platform, and it is so nice that you gave us a chance to show you that we do...More

Yet another pub that thinks they can charge over the odds just because the food looks nice. Myself and my partner ate here in December and from outside it looks great and when you step inside to a nice warming fire it's brilliant but then...More

We had lunch with friends here. The welcome was friendly and the food good. It’s definitely on the pricier side but we had a good meal. The staff were very good and friendly.

My son held his wedding reception here in September in the marquee. The setting was perfect and whoever decorated the marquee did it beautifully. However, this is where the praise stops. The food was very poor, both the starter and the main meal. The starter...More

Dear 189michelle, Firstly I am so sorry to not have responded sooner to your review. Unfortunately the 'Owner' as you described, was actually our 'Manager', and has since left, as has the chef who was with us then. Because it was over 4 months ago,...More

We found this pub by pure chance. It’s in a picturesque village and the pub itself has a log fire and is wonderfully warm, welcoming and cosy on a wet and windy day. The service was excellent as was the food.

We arrived at 1215 for lunch and left at 1330, full of excellent food and ale and charmed by the affable Clare who has run the pub for 16 years she said. Roast tomato soup without pesto (pine nut allergy) for one and delicious crispy...More

Love dogs ! Only in the main bar area and the garden, unfortunately not the bedrooms, or the restaurant, but you can eat and drink in the bar and garden 🐶
