I guess updating or editing my review of this restaurant isn't an option. Since my last visit, a recent health inspection report was posted where this restaurant was docked for several violations, including but not limited to, mishandling of food and traces of rodents and feces on premises. Never again will I eat here!

Omelettes and their specialty potatoes are really good. They have fresh squeezed juice and daily specials. The sweet potato pancake was tasty. We have not had lunch there yet, but heard it's good. Downside to this place is they don't take credit cards.

This was recommended by Stephen at Prestige Car Wash. We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh the food was. My husband had Eggs Benedict and I had a cup of very fresh lentil soup and 1/2 grilled cheese. I noticed that their OJ was fresh squeezed. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Enjoy.

The home style potatoes for breakfast can't be beat.....not the run of the mill hash browns....wide variety of choices for breakfast and lunch plus daily specials. Attentive wait staff.

I have always heard amazing things about the cracker box. So I went to try it and I will say that their food definitely didn't disappoint. Not only were their portions large, but everything had that seemed to have a homemade touch. Their home fries were especially delicious and all of the ingredients tasted like they were picked fresh that... More

Lived in Carson for many years and finally got to try this place, its super small and was amazingly loud, the service was slow and generally not interested in serving my wife and I. They treated the regular customers very well and it just made us feel unwelcome. The food was mediocre and we paid and left as quickly as... More

Busy place, for good reason. It's like a visit back to the 1960s, with fine homemade food, excellent service by real people (none of that canned corporate talk - "Welcome to *****. My name is Joan. Our special today is....."). No credit cards, but prices are reasonable. If you're visiting Carson City, there's a plethora of good places; this one... More

We have been living in Wisconsin for the past 12 yrs. and have recently re-located again at Lake Tahoe. Back in the Day, we would spend weekends at Sand Mountain, and on the way there, we make it a point to stop at the Cracker Box for one of the best breakfasts anywhere between here and Wisconsin. Now that we... More

Best breakfast and lunch in Carson City. You may have to wait a bit, but it's definitely worth it. Bring cash or check; there is an ATM inside restaurant. Staff are friendly and swift. The veggie omelet is out of this world.

We stopped here on our way from the airport in Reno to Lake Tahoe. There were 8 in our party and we all got something different and all were excellent. We wished it was in Tahoe we would have eaten there several times. Service was so good, we felt like family.
