We all (4) ordered a different steak. If mine and my husbands steaks were cut much thinner we could have put them between slices of bread and called them a sandwich. I got a bone-in New York steak which usually has great flavor. I was disappointed. The meat tasted cheap. My husbands was the same way. We were seated in... More

If you want a break from smoky casinos, try Ruby River Steakhouse directly across the street from the Peppermill. This place offers great steaks, salads, burgers and good drinks. They also serve yummy, warm home made bread. I loved the garlic chicken Parmesan.

Visited for my son's 30th birthday, 4 of us, had the 20oz Prime Rib mine was med well though I ordered med rare, other then that it was an excellent meal with drinks for a very fair price. You can come here get filled up and still have money in your wallet when you leave. Also if you have a... More

I ordered the French onion soup which was to die for!! So cheesy and flavorful! For my entree I ordered the ribeye, my favorite. I asked for medium well but it was still cold in the middle. There was also an insane amount of fat that honestly should have been trimmed long before arriving on my plate. The mashed potatoes... More

We were a group of 8, they weren't taking reservations but fortunately it was a Sunday night and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. We received great, efficient service - got all our orders right! Everyone was happy with what they ordered. The 'jacketed' baked potatoes and yams are very good and tasty. The jacketed... More

Having read reviews for Ruby's I decided to give it a try. Being hungry for steak I must say it was good. My brother ordered the prime rib which to me looked even better than my boneless rib eye. The rib eye did have a bit more than your average about of fat. The portions were quite adequate but our... More

Perhaps it is because I'm a Texan. Perhaps it is because I'm finicky. Whatever the reason this steak was just OK. I did enjoy the coconut shrimp though. The server was friendly and attentive. The portions were large.

Our steaks were both very good, we went early as we had not had lunch so we also did not have wine with our dinner. The dinner was 75.00 which seemed pretty high. I especially don't like ordering "craft root beer" and getting IBC root beer for 4.00 EACH, so 8.00 for TWO root beers is just awful, especially when... More

Across the St from the Peppermill Casino, Ruby River simply the best steakhouse in Reno. My wife and I go ther a couple of times per month. Try the 8 oz. sirloin with salad and choice of another side for $14.99. You won't regret it

This is directly across the street from the P.M. Casino and worth the walk, it is a serious relieve from their prices. The food was excellent and the served was top notch. We had a group of 30 and it went smooth, no issues at all. Best meal in Reno
