Party of three on a busy Saturday night with no reservations. Was great! We opted to set in the bar, where tables were first come first serve style - seat yourself. We lucked out and there was one table left! Great service. I had the pollo al raggio which was very good. The chicken was breaded and cooked great. The... More

My wife and I decided to try somewhere new for dinner. We had heard good things about Johnny's and decided to give it a try. We arrived 30 minutes early to have a drink at the bar before being seated. We sat down at the bar and waited for 15 minutes before any of the bartenders asked us if we... More

As I have noted in other reviews,Reno really is a " desert" when it comes to " Fine Dining " so if you live in a city with actual Fine Dining please keep in mind I am comparing to other Reno restaurants. Not withstanding the white tablecloths and chilled salad fork this restaurant is real just on par with chains... More

First of all the food was great. I loved my scampi Provençal. Service was just ok. Our waitress seems very unpolished and more like a server I would expect from a Denny's. We were there waiting for the doors to open at five. At 5:05 the waitress came and unlocked the doors so we could all go inside. She was... More

Ask for the view room as it has a city view. The service was excellent, the food expertly prepared . I had the veal marsala and it was great. Thin slices of veal and a great sauce. Expensive, but worth it.

Try to go early so you can get a seat! Best seating is by the window line because it can get noisy. We also ate at the bar one time, tables are small but cozy.

Old time Italian restaurant. Has been around forever and I just found it. Have gone twice to try a couple of entrees. Service good and food as well. Prices $$$. Desserts are good. Nice place for family dinner on special occasion.

We agree with the previous review "getting worse" where they were referring to prices. You'll be paying for the ambience, not the food. It is a somewhat romantic place to eat (spoiled by a nearby screaming kid in our case). It's not a place to bring your screaming kids. The calamari appetizers was skimpy and cam with just a red... The last few times to Johnny's have been disappointing. They charge $14 for a glass of Seghesio Zin, and I can buy a whole bottle for $16.50 at Costco. If they are buying at a similar price that's a 350 percent markup - WOW. Also, they charge $2 to $3.50 for any dressing on the house salad. Their pricing is... More

I was told to go here by a friend who use to live in Reno. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the cab ride there. If you like the Olive Garden, you will be okay. If you like good homemade Italian, don't go. 7
