We were greeted cheerfully upon arrival at this unique eatery that was formerly a railroad station in Center Ossipee, NH. We saw this place on the local Chronicle television show that reviewed several restaurants in NH that were former railroad stations. This one especially appealed to us as the location in central NH is reached by a very scenic ride through Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Tamworth, and Ossipee. The place is relatively small but feels bright and airy due to the high ceilings. The walls are adorned with various RR memorabilia and is fun to look at while waiting for your food. The selection of food ranges from appetizers such as sautéed mussels or mozzarella arancini to the usual staples of onion rings and poutine. We tried the onion rings and they were very tasty with the batter being light and fried to perfection. They were not greasy or clumpy at all. The entrees include things like various salads such as pear salad or grilled shrimp spinach salad. There are many sandwiches and wraps that are fairly unique twists on old favorites such as The Harvey ( pastrami, Swiss, and tomato on rye with poppyseed drsg), Turkey and cranberry wrap, Mahi fish b tacos, and several burger choices. I chose The Duffer ( grilled chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and avocado spread on a brioche roll) with sweet potato fries and cole slaw. The chicken was moist and tasty, the brioche roll was grilled to perfection, and the avocado spread added a delicious complement to the sandwich. The fries were tasty and the cole slaw was crunchy and slightly sweet. My husband ordered The Pilgrim Wrap ( fresh roasted turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce in a toasted wrap) with French fries and Cole slaw. He said the wrap was very flavorful, the turkey moist and the stuffing a wonderful complement. He could eat only half the sandwich as it was HUGE. He enjoyed the fries and Cole slaw as well. Overall, we both gave the meal 5 out of 5 stars. We were both very pleased with the meal which was only enhanced by the outstanding service provided by Kathy, our waitress. She was attentive without being pushy, always available easily the way the dining area is set up. She was so pleasant, helpful, and friendly that we felt like we had made a friend. We are so happy we traveled a little way off the usual roads we travel in that area to find this place. It is truly a gem which I think will only grow in popularity. While we were there today, the place filled up completely in about half an hour. We will definitely go back!

We try to come here whenever we are in the area, and it has never been a disappointment. Usually full - as it was this time - but worth the wait. I had the broiled haddock - it was large and good. Definitely a place where you want to bring along a healthy appetite. We understand though that this restaurant has been sold (August 2024), so we hope that the quality and service can be maintained

Visiting the area can be difficult to find places open in the evening. Happened upon this delightful place one evening.its of great choices. Huge portions. Had a delicious chicken broccoli Alfredo. Huge bowl and my friend had a delicious Mediterranean salad with a huge side of mushrooms. So good we went back for lunch and had the chicken salad croissant which had craisins and walnuts and large hunks of fresh chicken. Friend got a special of eggplant Parmesan and had to take half home it was so large. Would highly recommend if in the area. Great service too.

We made our annual family visit here. It’s always worth the inevitable wait for great fried mushrooms and onion rings for appetizers. Then we enjoyed a variety of good fresh seafood, a great salad, and the Pilgrim wrap one of us looks forward to every year. Fun railroad decor, friendly staff and local drink’s including mead from across the street all make this a necessary vacation stop!

Loved this one. We were there for a midweek dinner during Motorcycle Week (a regional annual event). This is a relatively small restaurant, so it wasn't as crowded as better-known places. We were seated in a room with tables close together; keep that in mind if you're seeking "social distance." We were served quickly by a friendly waitress. The food was tasty (with a special shout-out to the onion rings) and reasonably priced.

Amazing Turkey club sandwich that was stuffed with freshly sliced turkey... no deli meat here!! The french fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pilgrim wrap was like having a Thanksgiving meal all "wrapped" up! The chicken salad was served on a delicious croissant and had walnuts and craisins which made it very tasty. Our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would highly recommend this "off the beaten path" stop for anyone passing through.

Loved it. Our first time yesterday and we will definitely be back. The seafood was excellent. Fairly priced and large portions and delicious. We had fried mushrooms to start. One of the best we’ve ever had. We never have desert but noticed the strawberry shortcake on another table and shard a smaller version. Again excellent. Our leftovers are Anouilh for another meal. We will be back.

small little restaurant in an old repurposed train station. Very quaint in middle of New Hampshire. Excellent food. The fish stew was some of the best I’ve had. Reasonable prices for excellent food. Nice, friendly staff. Highly recommend

We had a fantastic time last night at the Mountain View Station. We ordered the Clam appetizer as well as the fried Smelt. Yes I was skeptical to order Smelt but talked into it. Yup, it was excellent. Knowing the appetizer overload my daughter and I had the fried seafood platter. Not lying, this was better and perfectly cooked than most places I’ve been to on the waterfront in the east. The rest of our party ordered the haddock and that did not disappoint as well. Kudos to the kitchen. The staff also was super attentive and helpful, hopefully the tip expressed our gratitude.

The food was great and the best clam chowder ever had but service and waitresses were a little rude and slow. A bit pricy for what you got!

Needed lunch and we didn't have many options around...that we knew of. Pulled up TripAdvisor and found this little place just off of Route 16. Love that this was an old train station. Had a great menu to choose from. The specials were clam strips or jerk wings. I went for the haddock sandwich that came with fries and slaw. It was fantastic! The bun was perfect, not dry or crumbly at all. They give you a squeeze bottle of tartar so you can have as much or little as you want. Fries are the coated style and coleslaw was creamy and delicious. Hubby had a pastrami sandwich and for $1.99 more upgraded to the absolutely delicious onion rings and he had coke slaw too. Prices were reasonable and service was great. So happy we stopped.
