I had never been to the 401 Tavern, even though I've lived down the road for a year. I went randomly with a girlfriend one Wednesday night and it was packed. We sat at the bar and shared some nachos and mac and cheese. I...More

We sat at the bar since there was a wait for a table which was no problem at all. Our server bartender was great and efficient. I ordered a lobster roll and Pomegranate lemonade martinis both were so good. This was the best lobster roll...More

although I love this place, I found the lobster dinner a rip off. I got a tiny lobster with little meat for a horrible price, My wife got a sandwich and two kids meals 80 dollars. Go somewhere else for lobster.

This place is from the 1600s and the inside shows it. There are a number of dining areas with a wine room upstairs you have to see. Most of the dining area is small as back in the day they didn’t build large taverns. Most...More

Clean and fun. Had the seafood chowder twice, my son had the pretzles. Loved both. Free candy as you leave.

The food is great, but the atmosphere and owners are the best! Kind, helpful, generous and fun. Perfect for a quiet couples meal, to meet friends after work and watch your favorite sports team, or sit down with the family...this place has it all!

Restaurant is "dirty" looking. Food is so-so. Bar and restaurant is dark and dull. Wait staff very aloof. Owner seems very nice, helps local charities, but all in all not great

Staff is very friendly and efficient, menu is diverse with several options available from sandwiches, soups, salads, steak and more . Their lobster rolls and clam chowder are a must to try. Both are mouth watering. It's always a lively time at the 401 Tavern!

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Kind of a rambling funky place with several rooms. We sat in the lounge. Dated, worn furnishings. Impressive bar. Pictures of patrons all over the walls. No blank space in this place. Obviously has loyal regulars, during our...More

Very laid back and casual atmosphere. We started with the tapas meatballs and potstickers. My wife did not think the meatballs were very flavorful but I enjoyed them personally. The potstickers were very good and the dipping sauce had a little heat that hits right...More
