Love the atmosphere here...so warm & cozy...and definitely a New England seaside vibe. Low ceilings and a big fireplace make you feel right at home. Service was friendly and helpful. Lots of different choices on the menu from a crock of chili to lobster rolls. Prices are moderate and food was good. This restaurant has been here a while, so... More

After spending a beautiful day along the New Hampshire seashore in 67 degree weather we decided to have an early dinner at the Old Salt Restaurant. We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday afternoon but were seated in about 10 minutes. The seating area is quite small but there are many memorable pictures along the walls to pass your... More

This place is a local favorite of mine. Living 5 minutes down the road, it's our go-to if we either want a fun bar atmosphere (large bar with tall tables, low tables, barstools & lots of fun local artifacts hanging all over the walls) or a quiet, rustic dinner setting. I'd say that comfort food and seafood are their main... More

Good seafood. The Old Salts calm chowder is the best. Sometimes service is slow or lacking it's just the luck of the drawer. Good buffet on Sunday's but make reservations ahead of time. Classic seafarer fried and baked seafood. The lobster is good too. The Lamies tavern is good too. Quiet place in the fall and winter and very busy... More

The old atmosphere in this restaurant only serves to enhance the experience of the Sunday brunch. Before I review, let me suggest that you make reservations. Every single item freshly prepared, many in front of you, and downright excellent quality, except the dessert items which are just fine, but are not made on site (per our Waitress). The restaurant is... More

Very good good, good portions. Waiting area very tight and dining room also tight in between tables. Portions very good. A bit pricey...four people, no drinks, no apps $120. Good service! Historical place. Will return.

The main dining room has nice fireplace that's usually burning on a cold winter night. It's a true New Englan atmosphere. Good food too!

I've eaten at the Old Salt probably 10 times and always had a great meal. Appetizers are consistent, we love the chowder, nachos, and stuffed mushrooms in particular! Seafood is super fresh, but you won't go wrong with other proteins. We'll be back many more times. Oh and check out brunch! It's a little pricey, but worth it.

Still great after all these years. We met an old friend here. He had a fried shrimp platter, we had chicken fingers. Both excellent, and priced right. Nice homey atmosphere as well!

Never disappointed. Good food, fast service-great place to hang with friends. Seafood always fresh, restaurant and facilities clean. Sunday brunch will knock your socks off.
