When in New London you have limited options for food. With that in mind, MacKenna's is a decent option for breakfast or lunch. My one rule for going to MacKenna's is to stick with simple diner options. I wouldn't go here and order a fish meal or spaghetti. Stick to classic diner food like grilled cheese or a tuna sandwich.... More

So disappointed in this restaurant! They had on menu Reuben/Rachel. I requested the Rachel and questioned that it would have coleslaw on it. The waitress said no that it just does not have sauerkraut and if I wanted coleslaw I would have to order a side! The iced tea came in a very small plastic cup but the charge was... More

McKenna's is a quaint family restaurant. I have had wonderful breakfasts and lunches there. Meals are like made at home. This day I met an associate for morning coffee. As usual, service as excellent and friendly

You can sit at the counter, relax in a booth or one of their many tables. Always great service and delicious food. Friendly wait staff makes you feel like part of the family. Love John's homemade bread. Favorite breakfast spot.

It's basic, it's simple, but it's good! Want crispy bacon? They'll make it crispy. Want more coffee? You got it quickly! Want eggs done medium? No problem. Only thing is it feels like a nursing home in there but I suspect that is the audience. Tasty road stop for sure though.

We always eat at MacKenna's when we're in New London. The food is always good, they make excellent sourdough bread, and their homemade pies are delicious. Be sure to get the onion rings. They're the best I've ever had, and the portions are generous.

This is the kind of local restaurant where friends gather and "everyone knows their name." The wait staff is friendly and service is good. Breakfasts are hearty, tasty and inexpensive. For example, I had two scrambled eggs, bacon, whole wheat toast and grilled home potatoes with onion for $5.99. The coffee is good, too! You can't beat that!

Just really very ordinary fare. Heavy meals with lots of fried things, all with nondescript taste. Given that there are much better options nearby, I can't figure out why anyone eats here other than force of habit: they've always just gone here and that's that. To be fair, the restaurant is clean, has decent atmosphere, and doesn't claim to be... More
