Excellent hot dog loaded. Rich history. Great burgers. Beans on the menu. Poutine is yummy. I would enthusiastically recommend this dining car for lunch or late night eating!

This place is a classic. For all you "yunguns" out there who might not know what a real diner is like, GO TO GILLEYS. They've got: 1-Hand-packed hamburgers 2-Hot fresh fries 3-Brownies the size of catcher's mitts 4-1970's era prices. Our family of 4 ate lunch including drinks, fries and a brownie for under $20. The seating is minimal, but... More

This place is awesome for late night snacks or just when you are starving. We stopped here in between a wedding ceremony and reception. Great Portsmouth staple and a must visit.

We arranged to meet our husbands for a late afternoon lunch at Gilley's. Upon arrival, a very grumpy man snapped " Are you ordering or not. If not, there are people who want to get in". It was 2:00 in the afternoon, no on else in the building and no one else in site trying to get in. Rather than... More

The experience of eating at Gilley's is one of a kind. There is a limited menu and it's been that way since they opened a hundred years ago. This little establishment has seen some serious action. It's cash only... and I always tip... i find it annoying when people don't... so cough up the cash for your food that is... More

Always my favorite place to grab some delicious cheese fries and a burger or a yummy hot dog! My family come from California just to get Gilleys!

Huge portions, super fresh, mouth-wateringly delicious, and CHEAP. I particularly love the poutine, but really, everything's good there. There's not much seating to speak of - just a few counters - but it's definitely worth the visit.

Just not worth the visit. Ordered a few hotdogs and french fries...hot dogs were done about 10 minutes before the fries. Owner, not very pleasant. Asked for hot sauce and he acted like I was a bother and he was doing me a big favor.

Hi Brian, We are very sorry you were not happy with your recent visit. We pride ourselves in serving the best quality food we can at an affordable price. Our hot dogs are based on the famous Schultz hot dogs recipe and our fries are hand cut to order. The fries take about 5-6 minutes to cook. You have the... More

Simple and delicious burgers, dogs & fries. An establishment in Portsmouth - it's a must-visit. There's often a line, but it goes quickly and it somehow always proves to be worth the wait.
