Stopped at the market on the way out of town. It was about 10:30am, and the market had a nice crowd. Despite this, I was waited on promptly. I bought a quart each of Manhattan and New England clam chowder for dinner during the week. Both are thick, hearty, and abundant with clams. With a nice loaf of crusty bread,... More

Had a late lunch here. Super friendly waitress Tina took care of us. I enjoyed the local oysters which were very tasty ($5.00 more at a restaurant in the heart of town.) We both chose the lobster bisque which was delicious, especially with the house-made bread. It was so rich and filling we skipped dinner that evening which is a... More

I'm here alone on business and I passed The Lobster House on the way to my hotel and decided I'd definitely eat there one of the two nights I'm here. Well, I will eat here BOTH nights. I decided to eat at the bar since I was flying solo and Larissa was the BEST. She gave me suggestions and every... More

It's right on the water and our only regret is that we couldn't have outside dinner - it was quite a bit chilly. I ordered scallops and it was super delicious. Chowder was really good too. Baked stuffed Flounder was really tender and tasty Local beers and ales added final touch to the great experience overall.

I just had dinner here with my family on December 3 and I must say, dinner at the lobster house just keeps getting better and better! It was not crowded which was even better! One of the best parts of my dinner was eating the amazing bread they give you when you sit down. It has to be some of... More

I came here with my family for Sunday dinner and had the bisque. Oh my heavens, so rich! It was so good! I felt a bit heavy afterwards, but a good heavy lol Even the vibe was nice too and that was because of the other patrons. Everyone was just so nice and friendly it was a bit weird at... More

The seafood was good, the chicken dish a bit on the small side. The cole slaw should be passed up. Bread was delicious. Prices were high but our server was tip top. Great water views & people pull up in their boats & eat there.

I almost feel bad doing this - people rave about this place. It's a local favorite and an iconic sight to anyone who's ever visited Cape May... But over-hype is a clear and present danger when dealing with landmarks, especially ones that skate by on their reputation. I'm not accusing The Lobster House of skating - but I gave them... More

We went for a late lunch the first Saturday in December (a very busy day in Cape May, since the Christmas parade is that evening). We were seated promptly and had a very nice meal. Lunch portions are smaller and the odd thing was the lunch entree came with a salad OR 2 sides but you couldn't get a salad... More
