I was a regular there for lunch Larry Goodrich the manager and I had a minor argument because of bad experience He called me up the next day and told me to never go there again - if I showed up with my family he...would personally escort me and my family out The food is good the service is not and the management is embarrassing and it is way overpriced. The manager Goodrich is better of in the kitchen making French fries or cleaning the floors It was embarrassing, he was unprofessional You are better off going to Ruth Chris' steakhouse or the Capital Grille in Paramus For a $350 meal and a 25% tip it is a place that I never will back to and I recommended that to all of my associates and clientMore

No terrace seating though the name did suggest Terrace dining. Good indoor dining experience and were comfortable though the restaurant was full. Added advantage was the Valet parking service.

I had the usual perfectly prepared steak and friend loved her bronzino. Sides still amazing: Hash Browns (unlike none others ever tasted), Shaved Onions and Creamed spinach. Only minor flaw was - I asked the waiter if the chef could get a little creative with...a Shrimp Appetizer (like Italian restaurants' Arrabbiata/Garlic Sauce) and it came out a little tough and weak sauce (Scampi-like vs. more garlic) and for $24, was disappointing. BUT, the main reason for my review was after an excruciating 95-minute ride from 7 miles away Hackensack (i was forced to accept 5:30 reservation after hearing great Cancer news in the morning to celebrate, i forgot about GWB traffic) the WAITER JOHN WAS SUCH A PLEASURE IN GREETING ME, SETTLING ME DOWN, AND ATTENDING THROUGHOUT THE MEAL, with his assistant, i had to tell his Management!! It pains me today, after frequenting the River Palm for over a quarter century, to say that it has declined to the point of becoming a place we will never eat at again. Today I took my family here for my son’s confirmation dinner thinking...it would be a great time with good food, because, as I used to say (and mentioned in a previous review) I had never had a bad experience here before this evening. Our party of six included two teenagers, two young adults, and my wife and I. I believed I was taking my family to a nice dinner that they would enjoy. For 27 years my guests and I would order whatever we wanted and always get the chopped salad with no questions asked. This evening 4 of our party ordered sushi as their entrees, and asked for the chopped salad. We were told that only the 2 people who ordered ‘regular’ entrees could get the chopped salad. Since my wife and my son who ordered sushi wanted the chopped salad I asked to speak with Steve, the manager, since this had never been an issue before. Steve came over to our table and when I asked him about this change in policy, he very arrogantly and with an unexplainable aggressiveness, asked if I was going there to get a free salad. Not only was this highly insulting and unacceptable behavior coming from a manager of an establishment that used to pride itself on treating its clientele with respect, but it also seemed like a ridiculous attitude to take with a client over a plate of lettuce. Steve ruined my evening. And while I cannot do anything about the hundreds of people I sent to the River Palm over the past 20+ years, I will certainly never recommend anyone there again, will do my best to dissuade anyone from spending their money there, and will not hold any business event or dinner there again. 2nd visit was even better than the first. while this pandemic has wreaked havoc on our daily lives, it skipped the River Palm. the only noticable changes are the outdoor tent. the hostess is still a pro with a great demeanor. jennifer our waitress handled...our 8 top with surgical precision......even schooled us on the true meaning of "black and blue" when is comes to ordering steaks. the food is top notch and quality is the norm........drinks are heavy. you get everything you pay for here and more.More

We have come here for many years but have not gone out very much with the pandemic and seeing how most places are operating. HOWEVER, River Palm has exceeded our expectations wonderfully! They have made a beautiful outdoor dining area complete with a rug and...lights to make it far nicer than being in a parking lot. They spaced the tables nicely and have their staff all working together to make your meal special. The indoors is also very well done to make you feel comfortable. This is so important for us as we are not twenty something! Our waiter Saturday afternoon as Jose, very nice and accommodating to a special request I made. I really wanted salmon but not as it was prepared this day. He assured me it was not a problem and thanks to him and the chef, I got exactly what I was hoping for. Salmon francese and it was DELICIOUS! The entire meal was memorable and we felt like we really had a date night for the first time in months. During service when the entree was served we were pleasantly surprised to see David Gonzalez whom we knew for almost two decades at another establishment bringing us our meal. We got so excited I forgot to photograph the entree. David always makes you feel like family and it is yet another reason for us to frequent River Palm that much more. Normally I would write a nice review about this restaurant. However, I ordered a lobster tail for 25.00. I noted that when i received the check i noticed that the lobster tail magically transformed in a 58.00.when asked about the expense the waiter cheerfully explained...that he gave me the 10 ounce tail...ALL ON HIS OWN WITHOUT ASKING. No offer of compromise This is unfair. The last time they will be seeing mine business and that of my colleagues.More

Excellent service, delicious food! The only complaint is that if you go on a Saturday night be prepared to wait. We had a 7:15 reservation but did not get seated until 8pm. It seems the problem is diners who have finished their meals stay too...long. I get it this place is expensive and well worth it but maybe on Saturday nights the first seating should have a 2 hour limit, I have seen this in other places. Anyway its still worth the trip, as I said the best steak anywhere, and I have been to the best steak houses around the USA!More

Very disappointed - the staff displays strong racial discrimination. I was there with my husband, celebrating my birthday and our waiter at first seemed very nice. However, midway through the meal, he came up to the table right next to us and made a joke...about nail salons, massages and started making a high-pitched imitation of Asian people..it made us extremely uncomfortable and ruined the whole dinner. I will certainly not go back there and do not recommend it to anyone who, like me, does NOT support racist behavior.More
