This place is a gem: once inside this small cafe in an unassuming strip mall, you smell what amounts to home-cooking, pots simmering on the stove. A great selection of tacos at a very reasonable price. Don't be fooled by the surroundings - this is authentic, carefully-crafted Mexican food. GO!

Lets face it, in this area there are no other options. The one other mexican place in town is very bad. They do a pretty good job of all the normal american mexican. If you are willing to drive to NB area you will get better, but this is pretty solid.

We found this place randomly after a round of golf nearby. I am so happy that we did. The place is small with only a few tables but we came mid afternoon and didn't have a problem getting a seat. The food is more traditional mexican vs the tex-mex you get at chain restaurants. Most of the food is made... More

The reason I love this place the most is that it is the type of food that you would get in a family member's house. It is no frills but outstanding. I also like that it is proudly run by a local woman.

I spent a lot of money for some so-so food. Moe's is 100x better. I thought small family-run restaurants are supposed to be better than the chains. One of the big disappointments was the empanadas. There was almost nothing inside them.

Did not know what to expect. Very attentive waiting staff. Above average costs but not outrages. Good specials

You will love it. The posters who had a bad experience should try it again just to see why people are mad about this place. The staff is friendly too.

Been here probably 30 or so times, still a huge fan. Haven't found a taqueria in NYC/JC that can make better mexican. Favorite dishes are the sopes or tostadas (i prefer spicy pork, though, every other type is also good). Picaditas are very similar to the sopes and i recommend them if you like sopes. As far as sides go... More

We happened upon La Constenita while looking for a dinner spot and this charming grocery store/restaurant blew us away. The guac, tacos (soft AND hard), and other items on the menu were very delicious. Go check it out!!

We just went there for dinner and it was delicious! It's cafe style so you order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The servers are very friendly and don't forget to order dessert!! This place was recommended by friends of ours and I would recommend it to anyone in the area!
