Spain Restaurant in Newark has the great clam in green sauce, seafood paella & chicken in garlic sauce! The portion was generous and there were a lot of shrimps, scallops, clams & mussel hidden in the paella rice! I love the broth with rice on the bottom of the dish to make it more flavorful. Their authentic Spanish dishes made... More

This restaurant continues to delight with delicious, flavorful Spanish cuisine. The serving portions are huge and can really be shared between two. Free parking is available, but the sign for the lot is difficult to spot. When you pull up to the entrance of the restaurant on Market Street look directly to your left for a sign across the street... More

The lobster was over cooked and the steak was burnt. When the check came it was overpriced. $47 dollars for burnt food. The waiter got upset when I should him my burnt food as if it was my fault. We got the bums rush once we finished eating. For a place that was once great I don't think I'll be... More

Such a hidden gem in downtown Newark. Small, cozy atmosphere. Service and food was simply delicious - huge portions.

So consistent. The chicken in lemon sauce is the best, so is the ternera extremena, veal in peppers onion and Sherry wine. The staff is awesome.

"Spain" is one of the several classic Spanish/Portuguese restaurants in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ. We went there for dinner prior to going to see Bonnie Raitt at NJPAC, and it was fine, as usual. Great gazpacho, excellent chorizo for apps. Surf and Turf for dinner, with the classic down neck sliced fried potatoes this area is known for.... More

I have not been to this restaurant for many years so I was excited to have the garlic shrimp and seafood paella. We were greeted by a grumpy waiter who pointed to our table. A few minutes later he tossed menus at us. The general atmosphere was of waiters that have been there for so long, they couldn't stand another... More

The food, service and atmosphere in Spain are top notch. We are always welcomed, as if old friends. If you are looking for authentic food, excellent sangria and a belonging atmosphere away from the maddening crowd, this is the place. Spain offers so much more than the big names on Ferry St and Rte 21. Have frequented this establishment for... More

The food at Spain is always very good. The waiters will always tell you about the daily special-- shrimps Ina garlic sauce.i love the staff. The waiters still wear tuxedos. The,steaks are huge. My favorite is the ternera extremena, veal with sausage peppers onions. I highly recommend, as the prices are much more reasonable than the other restaurants.

We visited this restaurant after looking for a place to eat coming out of Penn Station. Short walk, looked nice so we gave it a try. Very polite waiters. Got a table quickly. Ordered a couple of starters, but was advised that maybe one to share would be enough. Had a seafood paiela type of dish. Omg it would make... More
