Our family has been coming to eat here for years, and have even thrown parties in the big room upstairs! Last night we went for dinner for NYE and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food is always delicious and last night was no exception. The atmosphere is always warm and the staff are very attentive! This has become one of... More

It's been a few months since I've actually been here but just wanted to review. Very good food great service and really great people working there add up to a place I'll continue to go to. Had my Dad's repast here back in March 2015 and everything was fantastic, we had 90 some people on a busy Saturday and have... More

Haven't been here is years, but recently attended a wedding here, and was reminded of how good it is! Came back again with friends and was reminded of why I liked it years ago. Not much has changed, traditional casual Italian decor, but the food and service was excellent. will be coming back often!

I like the atmosphere and the way they treat you, the waiters are very nice and helpful, specially the owner Mr. Frank. The food is delicious, when my husband and I go there I usually order shrimps stuffed with crab meat, so good, I love that dish. You can even book a party, they have a large room for a... More

Was there yesterday and have been there before. The only thing good was the bread. The veal tasted like a patty. If I go to an Italian restaurant, I want it cooked by Italians. Spanish, Spanish etc. if you want "real" Italian food nearby go to the Bronx, Arthur ave. or little italy. Now that's where to go for "real"... More

Moderate food at moderate prices. Good location, easy to find and easy parking. Good service, standard fare. I've been here for intimate dinners and for social events. Nothing lasts forever but when a restaurant is around add long as tivoli, they must be doing something right!

Description
The Stancato family has not quite been in Ridgefield as long as Ridgefield has been around. Not quite, but their 40 years of restaurant business, culminating in the popular Cafe Tivoli, is a history of its own, with a certain pioneer flavor. Frank Stancato, proprietor of the cafe, remembered coming to success "the long way and the hard way". For almost every year of the past 40 years his enterprise has been part of the local landscape. He and his brother Patzy started off in 1968 by purchasing a small pizzeria in Ridgefield, which they expanded two years later, changing the name from Guido's to Frank's. In 1973 Frank and his brother Jerry expanded again when they bought a North Bergen tavern, also named Guido's, and again changed the name to Stancato's. When they moved, a large and loyal percentage of their clientele followed." The people of Ridgefield are like a big family," Frank commented warmly.Patzy on his own opened many place as Theresa's in Fairview; Roman's in New Milford; Sonny's in Englewood; Bella Roma in Passaic;La Valletta Pizza in La Valletta. Frank and Patzy together in 1982 in Ridgefield again opened Shaler Pizzeria (today Serge's). For four more years, the North Bergen restaurant and the Ridgefield eatery ran in tandem. In 1983 Frank, Patzy and Jerry opened Jerry's Pizzeria in Fort Lee and Plaza Pizzeria in Glen Point, Teaneck. In 1986 Frank moved back to Ridgefield in a big way, selling Stancato's and acquiring the well-known 533 Club, creating Cafe Tivoli. Jerry, went in Tenefly where he opened J. Stancato's. In 1993 Frank and Patzy remodeled an old dry cleaner and opened Ridgefield Liquor Store. At that time it was considered the most beautiful Liquor Store in the area!Cafe Tivoli has continued to grow, adding a second-floor party room for up to 110 people, and a party room on the first floor for up to 60 people.
