Very nice place to eat and drink. Very nice menu. Plenty of drinks from the bar. When you walk into Stage House, the host welcomes you with a smile. Food was good and we were very satisfied as we left for the day

We were seated in a back room that was too cold, then moved to another room that they said had a fireplace. But he fireplace was not on. This room was also chilly. Very disappointing turkey club sandwich with fatty bacon, had to pull it out of the sandwich it was ice cold and all fat. All in all depressing... More

Had a nice dinner with my sister at the Stage House. The restaurant is decorated in a colonial style and is very cozy - even on Friday night they were able to seat us with good service around 730pm (though I would make reservations just in case). The service was friendly and prompt generally left us along during the meal.... More

Stage house has it all. A big TV filled bar with lots of seats if eating alone or with friends. Then a quiet nicer bar for a date. It also has multiple places to eat, louder on the first flr, quieter upstairs, and outside if u want to smoke. The bar has nightly specials from all u can eat pasta... More

For nearly twenty years, I have called Scotch Plains, New Jersey my home. Even though some may consider it just another suburb of Manhattan with congested primary avenues and bumper-to bumper neighborhoods featuring the cottages of baby-boomers hoping to find space and solace somewhere with lower property taxes within the next five years, Scotch Plains transcends the average Jersey hamlet.... The food is very good here and the cocktails are excellent. It is a great casual dining experience with a very local feel.

Dinner is always better with great soup! The onion soup was excellent...delicious broth, bread, onions, cheese and loved the added crispy onion straws on top. My husbands seafood chowder had lots of fish/seafood in it with a tasty, not too salty broth with chunks of vegetables. Yum! For entrees my husband had Meatball Ravioli and I had the Tavern Dip... We've lived in town for almost 20 years. Stage House converted from fine dining to their Tavern-style years ago and it's proven to be very successful for them. When it's nice weather, they're able to have outdoor seating and the place is hopping and very lively. They've been a bit lazy with the menu as there hasn't been new items... More

I don't know why Stage House Tavern enjoys the success and reputation it appears to have. I have been there many times over the years, the last of which, and it will be my last, was August 2016. We reserved a separate "room" if one wishes to call it that for a party of twelve (it is a Revolutionary War-era... More

Built in 1737 this historic inn boasts many small dining rooms with a fireplace in each room. The Stage House Restaurant offers an ala carte menu every day. Next, The Tavern at the Stage House, which serves up Rustic American fare in a more casual setting. Newly renovated with a new 35 seat bar, a cool little club house and the best Burger in Town.
