Fresh fish served everyday. It can get windy but the covered seating is ideal for windy Cape Town days. If you are lucky you may get to have lunch with live music from locals.

This place should be on one of those TV programmes, Diner, Drive-ins & Dives. Read about this place on this very website and decided to try it out. Ended up going these twice. Fish, prawns and calamari was so so fresh (and I am not really a fish person). There is a sitting area but don't expect much in that... More

Value for money Great food Be aware of the vagrants and opportunists Loads of lemons, sauces and ablution to wash hands Waited for 20 minutes for order to be filled Overall food great Best to go during the day Forget about a romantic evening as there are too many people asking for your food!

We ate there thrice when we visited Hout Bay. The prawns are gigantic and yummy. Good value for money. The fish is fresh from the ocean.

My partner and I visited the restuarant on 1 May. We have been there many times before and enjoyed good food. On our last visit we were very dissapointed. The calamari was tough and stringy and the chips were extremely oily as was the fried fish. We were unable to finish our food and both felt unwell from the little... More

I try to always go here for fish and chips whenever I am in Hout Bay around meal times. You are always guaranteed to have fresh fish and seafood, at reasonably good prices. The outdoor eating area has stunning ocean and mountain views and is very great for families, but don't expect luxury. It is basic (but clean) and has... More

Snoek, hake, calamari and chips with tartar sauce makes a lunch at Fish on the rocks memorable. Based in Hout Bay, harbor road and with reasonable prices it is a must try. The batter is a signature of fish on the rocks and is really delicious. They have prawns as well but we didn't try.

I've been here more than once now and I absolutely love it! They are very generous with condiments! Service is friendly and the eating area has absolutely great views!

Like many other tourists, we were told to try to hake and fish at this place. I was really pleasantly surprised. Very fast service, good food (you know what to expect) and nice surroundings. Would go back.

Never fail to have 1 quick meal here almost a ritual on every visit to Cape Town.standards have dropped drastically.hake with a loaded stiff oily batter most certain to give u a bad case of indigestion and heartburn. The place is always busy.business is brisk.why does a popular outlet have to compromise on quality. Is it another case of Junk Status
