Wonderful food. Had all three combination - chicken pie, bobotie and roast Karoo lamb - with roast potato, rice and veg. Lekker, lekker, really good food. Quaint extraordinary little place with reality Karoo kitchen offbeat hospitality. If you can't take the heat, best not to get into this kitchen... If you relax into the experience you will simply love it.... More

Fly back 25 years and you have a crew that look after you in that very special way that SAA did. Quirky yes,Fun Yes.,tasty food yes, great service yes and something so old fashioned and yet so special. Menu has not changed much in 18 years .Why should it .It is traditional excellence. Incredible value.

Great food, authentic Karoo cuisine. Slow cooked Karoo lamb, chicken pie, and bobotie all great. Give it a try when in Prince Albert Well worth it!

If authentic, home cooked Karoo food is what you are after, then be sure not to miss the Karoo Kombuis. They are generally fully booked, so be sure to call in advance. Atmosphere is relaxed and the menu is limited, but you will not be disappointed. Remember to take your own wine. Very good value for money.

The Karoo lamb was out of this world. It was slowly roasted in the oven and the gravy was also delicious. I also loved the lemon pudding. The only downside to my experience was the woman serving me. She was paying a lot of attention to one gentleman she was also serving and was obviously irritated with me when I... More

When you walk into the restaurant, you get the idea that time has stood still for the past 40 years. It is all about the atmosphere, friendliness and not about the food. There are 3 main dishes on the menu (as has been the case for the last 18 years!) sometimes 4 options during winter. I had the bobotie (the... More

We enjoyed a wonderfully taste of traditional Karoo food at this warm and homely restaurant. You do need to book in advance and take your own wine and cash as they don't accept cards.

We could not book as they were closed 12.00 - 17.00 and did not answer phones. Traditional food on menu. No liquour lisence - have to take your own. No card facillities.

Not a formal restaurant, a meal at home with excellent hosts. A relaxed and authentic way to sample what locals cook and enjoy. Very glad we tried it.
