Highly recommend for great pizzas, we visited for lunch during the school holidays only to find that they had not fired up the pizza oven and were doing some minor renovations- drilling Although the food we ordered was good , we were looking forward to pizzas and had driven a far way for those. A warning ahead of time would... More

So glad that our pizzas come highly recommended, and it was such a pity that you were disappointed. We will make a note of it to add it onto our website that pizzas are only available on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. And apologies for our handyman - it was the only day he was available to fix the ceiling... More

Out of curiosity we took a drive to Saggy Stone. The setting is very nice - lawns under trees and surrounded by hills and mountains. We spent a relaxing hour there having something to drink and listening to live music. The service was okay and the personnel friendly. The area is not very big and I presume it can get... More

Hi Linda Thanks for your review - always good to get feedback (positive and negative) which keeps us on our toes. Saturday was a particularly busy day because of a new band playing which drew more crowds than usual - which is a good response and one which we were thrilled with, but with this comes a slightly understaffed day.... Having called ahead of our visit and being told it's not necessary to book a table, we arrived to a fully booked venue! Luckily we were squished onto a table for 2. However each time some walked behind me, I was knocked and bumped. Not very pleasant especially after taking the journey on the dirt road. The service was average... More

Good afternoon Thea, I must apologise for your experience - if you came this past Saturday we were overwhelmed unexpectedly by some large groups. It seemed to be the chosen day to go out and enjoy the area! We are normally not that busy on Saturdays and we were as surprised as you were. Otherwise I would definitely have made... More

After tasting some of the Saggy Stone beers we decided to take a ride out to the brewery for lunch and to sample some more of the beer. The brewery is quite a way off the beaten track but easy enough to find.We were given a table and menu but then we were just ignored. The place was not busy but it... Saggy Stone is about 20 miles from the nearest town, and the drive there is mostly over gravel roads. It seemed to us a very unlikely place to find a restaurant. But not only is there a restaurant here but on our visit it was absolutely full. And deservedly so - they have created a charming ambience with rough table... More

We attended the Saggy Stone beer festival and I can't compliment the owners enough. The event was so well organized and considered. The staff working on the farm were kind, friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile to help you / make your experience enjoyable. The beer is delicious. Decent prices. The event itself is so much... More

I was visiting some friends in Worcester and they took me on a trip to a brewery. After a bit of a drive, we stopped at Saggy Stone. It is situated between the hills in a valley. My first thought was that this is a picnic place. There are enough tables spread out in the garden in such a way... More

We heard about Saggy Stone from our friends & drove out from Cape Town. Only about one and a half hours from Cape Town. On a farm. Secure parking. A pretty area to get to. We were warmly welcomed by & given good service by Dominique. The Beer Tasting was of 5 different all grain Craft Beers, made on the... More

Fortunately we booked as Saggy Stone is popular and rightly so. We were welcomed and shown to our table and had the tasting paddle for the beers - excellent. The Steak and ale pie with chips was delicious. We left well satisfied.

We heard of Saggy Stone from a friend thought that we would give it a go when we next visited the Robertson valley. Wile camping at Goudmyn we made a turn at Saggy Stone, it is well worth the effort of driving the diet road to get there. The food is fresh and really tasty and their pizzas are wood... More
