We were staying overnight in NJ and needed a place to have dinner. This restaurant was close by and looked very nice . The inside was very comfortable and clean. The staff were all very pleasant, friendly and excellent at their job. And the food was very, very good. We decided before we left that might that we would go... More

Pass this by. The service was slow and the food sub par. There are too many good diners in NJ to settle on this one. Nearby are Pandora and better yet for a few more minutes go to Vincentown Diner where they pride themselves on using Local products. The inhouse made desserts are just what you expect from a NJ... I stopped here for the first time and ordered a chef salad---got it home and found some cranky rolls of meat and cheese, cranky tomatoes, white onions and yellow and white lettuce with maybe 3 pieces of spinach---it was an awful salad and I was terribly disappointed as I was looking forward to it for lunch after working. The dressing... More

This is no longer a diner I want to go to. From a hostess who rolls her eyes at you when you ask to sit in the dining room rather than a worn out booth in the front to grouchy wait staff and poor quality food, this diner really offers nothing to a customer. Oh, and the flies! Kind of... More

A group of 15 stopped in for brunch the youngest 10 years old says: we got here at 11:30 it's now 10 minutes after one where are my waffles? Slooooooooooow service with mediocre food. It is almost unheard of in NJ to get a bad diner. As our waitress said to us I hope everyone's happy with their food because... More

We were at the Garden State Diner for a luncheon after a funeral. Being that there was a set menu for the luncheon we were a bit skeptical. My wife and I ordered the chicken choice. This turned out to be half a chicken with stuffing, mashed potatoes and string beans, and was more food than we expected! The meal... More

My family and I visited this diner on our vacation visiting New Jersey from New York. The staff was friendly. The service was slow. I don't think we will be visiting again, however, because of the slow service.

I love diner food but this food was nothing special. The baked goods are OK but the regular food is unimportant. You can tell most of the food is premade, out of a can, not unique, no family recipes here. I ordered chicken noodle soup and got what looked like generic (not even Campbell's) thin noodled, overly salted, out of... More

I had the best cole slaw I have ever had, which is an unusual find! It was cut up very find and was very tasty. I had the roast sirloin of beef which was delicious and the mashed potatoes was good also. Looking at the menu, I could have had Italian food, wraps, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, a variety of salads... More
