We stopped at Rest. Rancho de Chimayo for lunch on our way to Taos Pueblo…It was great that we had the opportunity to do so, as it is a popular stop for tourists and locals and we did not have reservation. Make sure to write you name on the waiting list before noon… Food was excellent.. Great Fry bread with... More

This restaurant only serves breakfast on weekends, and the web site doesn't say anything about reservations so I was a little nervous about availability. Made sure to get there early, noticed that the parking lot was not full. Was a little surprised that the hostess went off first to check with the owner before seating me. Not sure if that... More

We went there for lunch on Saturday, had a little wait maybe 15 minutes, we waited in the lounge and they came to get us from there. outdoor seating is great with umbrellas to shade you, lots of flowers around. I ordered tacos and was surprised that they were hard shell tacos, I expected corn tortillas, maybe they are available... More

This historic hacienda style traditional New Mexican restaurant is a must visit when in Northern New Mexico. The history of the area and restaurant are worth the trip and the food is delicious. We were lucky to be there on a warm sunny fall afternoon so we sat on their charming patio. Delightful lunch.

Let me start by saying the food was FABULOUS. I have never enjoyed Chile Relleno before trying theirs. Absolutely amazing. The burritos were awesome as well. But the service... I walked in & the host just stared at me with a cold, blank look so I said hello, he said hi. & we just stood there... Until somebody in my... More

Not as impressed as I wanted to be. Food ok,and never got sopapillas until way after the meal had ended. Drinks were strong and tasty. Service was harried. Outdoors on upper patio was nice, but only two servers and that meant lots of waiting for food and extra water, etc.

This restaurant was not on list of places to visit but the manager of our hotel insisted that we would not be disappointed.....she was right. We dined on a beautiful patio overflowing with flowers. Our meals were sopapillas with shredded beef and/or chicken and both were absolutely delicious. It is a unique dish. Chimayo has it own chile with a... More

This is a must visit in Northern New Mexico. The drive is beautiful with color in the fall and green during the summer. The restaurant has such history and the setting is beautiful. I've been many times as I live in NM and always take visiting family and friends for the experience. Whether you sit outside on the patio or... More

...possibly the best I've ever had, and that's coming from a live-long New Mexican. Not sure what to add besides that--service was expeditious and friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and open. If I had to come up with a critique it would be to wait until the entree course is almost complete before bringing out the sopapillas so they're... More

The best local food. WE were on the road from Taos to Santa Fe and Tripadvisor reviews did not lie. Awesome tiered patio seating outside. I rained but the umbrellas kept us dry and happy - especially with the wonderful margarita. WE all had different plates, and we all loved them. It's lovely. And it's easily found on the high-road...
