Perea's is a place where everybody knows your name...within a minute we have two cups of coffee, a pot of cream, chips and homemade red chile salsa, a glass of water...and a few minutes later a full plate of delicious carne adovada, or enchilada casserole...or frito pie....or huevos rancheros...topped with simple, clean, hot red or green chile. Of course we... More

We really wanted to like this place. It's historic, the building is charming (the interior has a bit of an English pub feel), the staff are friendly & welcoming. Service though was quite slow, even though they weren't busy, and the food was mediocre. The beer, however, was very good. We would stop in again for just a beer, but... More

World class bar and restaurant. Definitely a dive bar/restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices. Family owned.

If you want the full flavor of Corrales, eat at Perea's Tijuana Bar with all the locals. Open from 11-2 for lunch (evenings as a bar, no food), the food is all home made and tasty. Sometimes it can be a bit spicey hot but there's not way to tell in advance as each batch of chilis come out differently.... More

We ate lunch here today and would never come back. The "Deluxe Nachos" were a small pile of Tostitos with a little melted cheese, beans, and some dry, old, gross ground beef -- and a side of sour cream and guacamole (guac was actually good). The "Enchilada Casserole" tasted like something your grandma would make - but not in a... More

This place has been around forever, and doesn't look like much, but the Mexican food is excellent! Loved the Carne Adovada, and the home made Flan is awesome And if you like a funky, old-timey bar, this place has one. The décor redefines "eclectic"

It was amazing food. The staff and owner were friendly and fun, and even remembered my friend though he hadn't been there for years! The plate came with posole, beans and hand-made tortillas, and of course the rich red chile was to die for. That, and a La Cumbre IPA, and I was in heaven!

Lunch only -- NO DINNER served. Just good. Everything is good. It's a historic OLD OLD OLD adobe building (NOT all-spiffied-up), creating an authentic, relaxed, time-don't-matter atmosphere... home-cooked, made-to-order, fresh-ingredient grub which is TASTY and really (laughably) inexpensive. Quiet bar up front, with a couple of local fellas enjoying a mid-day beer and talking to the owner, John Perea. A... More

My husband and I stopped in for lunch last Saturday at Perea's. We had passed it many times and thought it was just a watering hole. It is an historic adobe with all the charm you'd expect in "old New Mexico." The village of Corrales is loaded with charm and this spot is in keeping. The food was plentiful and... More
