This is a small out-of-the-way place that is definitely worth seeking out. The sushi is impeccably prepared, fresh and incredibly flavorful. The bento boxes are a delight and a great value. The daily lunch specials never disappoint. Arrive early on Fridays for the Tempura lunch special! It's a favorite!

Enjoyed the sushi, and we've had a fair amount of sushi from So. CA, so we know good sushi. Chef is from San Diego. Didn't enjoy the slow service. People seated next to us 15 minutes after we arrived, received their entree food while we were still waiting to be served our miso soup appetizer, so service was obviously spotty.... More

Service is normally pretty bad, sushi is mediocre not bad not good just mediocre. Not a lot of choices for sushi in Taos though so probably the best you can get unless you go to santa Fe.

This restaurant hides itself behind the rustic barns of The Overland Ranch and The Farmhouse Cafe (about 3 miles north of Taos Plaza). Just when you think you are in the wrong place there are signs pointing the way along wooden sidewalks to some very delicious Japanese food. In addition to an extensive menu of sushi and maki rolls, there... More

This is a really traditional Japanese Sushi Restaurant with the additional complement of Japanese fare including Sukiyaki, Tempura, etc. The selection was great, the food was really good and the prices were within reason. If you select a table outside, in addition to great food, you have a wonderful view of the high plains surrounding Taos. A really lovely dining... More

They have a outdoor seating with beautiful views of Taos Mountain. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced and very filling. Their sushi is fantastic especially considering you are in Northern New Mexico. If you are skeptical try it once and then decide. It is worth a visit! Dinner is also great, seating is more limited inside but worth the wait.... More

Arrived just after dusk and my wife wanted to find a more lighted place but I drug her down the garden trail and followed the tiny signs beside the ranch cafe, behind the Overland Sheepskin shop, down the boardwalk to this great little GEM of a restaurant. Chirashi Bowl was wonderful & the Sweet n Spicy Crunchy Roll and Las... More

I don't know about some of the previous reviews on referring to bad service at this place, both the owner and the waitress could not have been nicer. Miso soup totally flavorful , very rich and velvety. Tempura shrimp and veggie appetizer-Light and delicious. Had a tuna roll that was awesome -so fresh was the fish! Hubby had sesame chicken... Who would think you could get great Japanese food in Taos, NM? But you can at Sushi a la Hattori. I love going for lunch and having one of their bento box specials. It's a great way to sample some of their fare. Fresh and delicious.

This place should just close. We waited 15 minutes to order our food, we ordered makis for an appetizer and were good, but we were not acknowledge by the waitress-owner for 50 minutes after some else brought our appetizer. When she finally brought our entree, we asked her if we could order more makis. She was alreay upset and yelled... More
