Decided to try the restaurant as we were spending the night in Roswell. What a great place!! We did thr build your own calzones and they were as big as a football. The cheese was so fresh and creamy. The veggies were perfect. There is...not one bad thing about this restaurant. Food, service, quality were all great. Highly-rated and highly recommended. Will be back on our next trip through Roswell.More

We ordered two plates of the Fettuccine Alfredo plates, one plain and one with shrimp. They put the shrimp (5) in the Fettuccine with the hard tail shell still on causing you to put your fingers in the food to remove the shell. I called...and asked if that was normal, to put the shrimp in the food with the shell still attached. They advised me that it was, sounds like laziness on their part to me. The Fettuccine was just ok, nothing to write home to mom about. Needless to say, we won't be eating there again!More

The food was delicious. Amy was very knowledgeable of the menu. She was very engaging and attentive without pestering. Rated four stars because the hostess/ manager? was rude when checking out. Will definitely return next time we’re in town. If you go ask for Amy!

A group of five for a lunch and recruiting meeting for work. Service was really good, explained items we questioned. Some special orders due to allergies and got it all right. Ordered sandwich, salad, ravioli, spaghetti at table, large portions, especially considering all ordered off...lunch special. Clean place. Simple, but really good food.More

This restaurant from the moment you walk in, screams Italian. The smells envelope your senses the sights, smells and atmosphere pleases you instantly. I ordered the parmesan chicken my wife chicken alfredo my son chicken strips with french fries the parmesan chicken was the best...I have ever tasted or at least the best I've ever tasted in a long while it's taste is truly authentic. The service is second to none. Our waitress was at our beck and call in a moment's notice. If you come to Roswell, you simply have to eat at this restaurant. If you miss a chance to eat here, you have missed a lovely dining experienceMore

Came here to have food with a friend and we both left extremely happy. To be honest, this was not our first choice. The pictures taken by some patrons did not look very good and we decided to go to the Thai restaurant two doors...down. We came here only after we found out that the Thai restaurant was not open for dine-in. Alfred was our waiter and we immediately felt at home. He was professional and caring. He fulfilled every single request we had and always with a smile. My salad and pasta were both wonderful. My friend loved his salad and his meat-lover pizza. We left extremely grateful and happy.More

For our dinner, we ordered 1 gorgonzola salad, 1 caesar salad, 1 shrimp scampi entree, and 1 three-mushroom pasta entree. The salads were fresh and tasty, and the meal came with a LOT of delicious Italian bread. Service was excellent and our take-out order was...prepared accurately. On the down side, however, the actual entrees were less than terrific. The shrimp scampi had zero resemblance--ZERO--to a garlic butter sauce. It was edible, but only barely so. The marsala in the mushroom pasta had no resemblance to marsala either, and had a genuinely odd and generally unpleasant flavor. Bottom line, despite the good salads and bread, and despite the excellent service we received, the meals themselves were of such poor quality that we would NOT go back to Portofino.More

Warm bread with great dipping oil to start off with. Hubby split a tomato salad (delish!) and pasta dish with me. It was great! Alfred was our server. I asked him if he was the manager- he seemed surprised I asked him that. He said...no, just a server. I though he was the owner or a manager because of the way we were treated and talked to. Very nice to be treated like you’re very important to the business and they appreciate you being there!More

While passing through on a Saturday, we passed this place but decided to turn around to try it because the parking lot was relatively full. It's an older decor with friendly waitstaff. With a nice selection of salads, I settled on the Sunset salad while...my husband chose the shrimp scampi. We were served a nice herbed olive oil and fresh bread to enjoy before our meal arrived. FYI- It was garlicky for those who garlic may not agree with. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my salad loving the pinenuts, sun dried tomatoes and gorgonzola cheese. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp scampi especially the sauteed zucchini. Good choice for a quiet dinner.More

Was driving into town and saw Portofinos. I was hungry so we stopped in and ordered a large pizza, large salad, and garlic bread. Pros: good value for the amount of food you receive; salad was fresh Cons: in my opinion, the garlic bread tasted...old and was uneatable; the pizza was just OK; had better frozen pizza Note: dining in might be better for freshness of food. Recommend you dine in.More

This place is what my city of Santa Fe is sorely lacking - an inexpensive Italian restaurant with competent food. My eggplant parmesan was perfectly fine - tasty and well-prepared. The portion was quite big. Service was competent. If you want fine dining this is...obviously not the spot, but in all, a decent meal for a fair price.More

We did take out for dinner. Went there to order since there’s no webpage or menu listed online. Order was done promptly and very impressed with how hot it stayed, even once we got home. We all got pasta dishes and were satisfied by the...taste, quality and portion size. They even did some substitutions to make a specialty dish for me. Home made bread is delicious. They sent dipping oil but it was tasteless, but very easy to doctor up. In Roswell, your non-fast food choices are limited, but this definitely fits the bill when looking for non-fast food that’s not steak or burgers. And much better priced than what I would have paid for it at home.More

... When my car club showed up for a state meet, mostly from Albuquerque, with 20 of us unannounced... Set up tables, got us all seated quickly, and gave us amazing service the entire time. I usually don't do a second review for a place...I've been to before but I had to come give props where deserved. Every order correct, drinks refilled, etc. Thank you Portofinos!More
