Off the beaten path but we'll worth finding. Very friendly and great food. If you want a place that is quaint and has that local feel this is it.

We asked for a table with 9 or 2 tables. Not that easy to accommodate in a small place, that we understand but the owner told us to go elsewhere in a unfriendly, nearly rude way. Thou

I am one the one's that always looks for local places to eat, and this one didn't disappoint , had the breakfast burrito with tomatillo salsa and really like it , think they can get a better flour tortilla but besides that it really hit the spot.

ok, this is considered a local hangout ad we tried this on our way home. The problem I have is that several other restaurants have better than what I ate. It isn't bad but compared to others it isn't the best. I had biscuits and gravy and oatmeal. Biscuits and gravy much better at Log Cabin. Oatmeal better at Cornerstone... More

Once we found Pena's, near our lodge, we went every morning for breakfast. The food is fresh and delicious, the owners and staff are friendly and efficient. One day, there were no available tables, and some local residents invited us to share their table. This is an absolutely delightful restaurant, and we are looking forward to our next trip to... Again, this is one those places that the food is never really consistent. I get the same thing every time I go and every other time, I have a problem of some kind. Under cooked, over cooked, etc. People and waiters are friendly enough. Usually has music on Friday and Sat. night. Need reservations, not because the place is full.... More

Pena's Place is a small locally owned restaurant with the owners doing the cooking. The food is prepared fresh and is awesome. The pecan and blueberry pancakes are wonderful. I like the New Mexican dishes with Green Chile sauce- very tasty. Did I mention the chips and salsa- tangy and delightful. A must on our trips to Ruidoso.

We eat here every year when we visit. Wife had the blueberry pecan whole wheat pancakes with bacon. I had the breakfast burrito smothered in cheese and red sauce (huge!). Great coffee, excellent service and Jimmy the owner came out and talked awhile after the breakfast rush. Always excellent!

Pena's has WONDERFUL food! I've visited there for both breakfast and lunch, and both were amazing. The green chile breakfast burrito was top notch, and the quesadillas were full of great flavor. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Ruidoso!
