We had shrimp tacos and chili rellenos . They were amazing! The sauces had spice but we had it on the side. The service was friendly. We started out outside but got too windy. Inside there are a couple of tables. Parking is rough. We highly recommend!!

This little place is surprising in its food. there is outside seating , (good because inside is almost claustrophobic ) Friendly service and healthy not over heavy, but oh so flavorful food. I ate there twice and really liked it. Parking can be a challenge. This was referred to me by a local, and i thank them. (Not fancy at... More

I came to Taos for the Taos Pueblo Feast Day which, if you are in these "neck-of-the-woods" during this time, I highly recommend! Evening arrived and La Cueva Cafe was a favorite of my Friend, so Dinner it was. I will often "judge / rate" a Mexican Restaurant by the Rellenos they serve, & La Cueva Cafe didn't disappoint! Fresh,... More

There is a reason this place has such high ratings. It's delicious. I had the beef burrito with red sauce. The meat was well marinated and the sauce was a little spicy, but not overpowering.

It is a tiny jewel with great Mexican food. It now has more rooms and a large beautiful patio but didn't lose its charm. Love the mango smoothie with my spicy tacos with chunks of pulled chicken.

Coming to Taos a few times a year for many years. Can't always hit every restaurant every time but I ALWAYS make room for this place. Best Mexican food around. Only thing missing is wine and beer.

We frequently stay near the plaza when we come into town and have seen this restaurant many times, as well as the great reviews on Trip Advisor. Two things dissuaded us from trying it before: No adult beverages to accompany the meal, and small number of tables (I hate to wait!) Apply design thinking to this visit, we asked: How... More

At first glance it’s easy to pass by this gem. The building is unassuming and there are only about 8 tables. But wow, the service is excellent service and the food is great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They stopped by at our table several times to make sure everything with our meal was good. We had Shrimp... More
