We waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our order, then someone did and we the had to wait 15 minutes just for drinks - which never came - until one lady (and I am so sorry I cannot recall her name) took over our table orders - from there we had fantastic service.

Going to Dullstroom on a Sunday to work on the Monday is just a "to do" activity. After exploring Dullstroom a but, time for dinner. We (me & my wife) decided on The Poachers because it look so inviting. The restaurant was quiet (being a Sunday late-afternoon) so the service was spot-on. The food was delicious, especially the basket, the... More

We decided to embark on a spontaneous trip to Dullstroom and landed up spending our evening listening and dancing to a live band and drinking far to much. I certainly recommend The Poacher to anyone looking for something to do on a Friday or Saturday evening - as we met some great people and the vibe was so electric. Needless... More

I went to the Poacher in Dullstroom for dinner on Friday 31 March. The restaurant was busy, and there was no manager in attendance. The food was terrible, the oxtail was burnt and the vegetables were cold, the pie was also very average. I cannot understand how a restaurant can serve burnt food and expect the customer to accept it... More

A good place to stop for lunch. I wasn't staying in Dullstroom but I've used it twice for a pit stop. Friendly welcome and a varied menu. The portions are large by UK standards. They are freshly prepared to order which I always find a plus point. The local Trout Salad is to be recommended as is the Piri-Piri Chicken.... More

Was working as a volunteer for 2 weeks - friendly service and good food. Particularly liked the snails and mussels. Very reasonably priced. Lovely log fire. Felt very safe

Visited for a pint and was welcomed by a lovely fire on what was a wet evening. During my 12 days in Dullstroom, it became my regular place after work. It underwent new management during my stay and the staff are friendly; in fact they pulled my pint as soon as I walked through the doors! I ate here on... More

There didn't appear any other places (with patrons) open when I arrived tired and stressed on on a cold, rainy, misty evening. The non smoking dining area had one couple and wasn't very inspiring, but there was a warm fire and some locals in the (smoking) pub section. The waiter/barman Terence (I think his name was) recommended the Lamb pie.... More

We had dinner here. There was a variety to choose from on the menu. I had a bacon and chicken salad which was okay but the dressing for it was not great. My husband had beef lasagne that was large with lots of beef did not really resemble lasagne as we know it. The house red wine was adequate in... More

Small place with a pub like feel and plenty out doors siting benches - under the Dullstroom night sky. Fair service, average food at average prices. At around 9.00 in the evening, the lights get dimmed and the music goes up transforming the whole place into a club. A place where you will find most local youngsters having fun at.... More
