Had an early lunch here. The coffee was very nice but the burger was pretty average. Unfortunately the bun was very stale. Most of us had burgers, my one mate had the full English breakfast which looked, and apparently tasted very average.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Timbavati. Good choice for breakfast. I had the lamb livers and bacon mix with mieliepap (without the toast, scrambled egg) as I have to eat gluten free.

Not much ambiance but the trout dishes were excellent and service was very pleasant. I always feel like sides are an afterthought at most restaurants, but their vegetables and side salad were really quite nice! Also a good spot to grab a few simple snacks and bottles of wine if you're staying nearby.

I ordered the smoked trout sandwich for my brunch. When it arrived, it certainly looked very impressive, but once I lifted off the sliced of seed bread perching on top, the filling was all lettuce, a sweet berry sauce and tiny cherry tomatoes. The smoked trout was there, hiding amongst the lettuce. At R80, I certainly expected more trout, and left... More

Got to Dullstroom at 7am and very few restaurants were open. It was cold and wet, a real wintersday on the 4th of January 2017. We were heartely welcomed at Pickles and Things, beckoned over to the fire and immediately offered something warm, while deciding what to eat. The food was great! Just what you need after a self-catering holiday.... More

If I want breakfast, I need good cappuccino. So its nice to find a place to get a good cappu when in the platteland. But to be fair, Dullstroom have a lot of places that make a very good cappu! If you want a no nonsense, good breakfast like your father-in-law would enjoy, or something a little interesting like a... More

Delicious food and good service! Crumbed chicken burger with parmesan cheese sauce was a great choice for lunch.

My wife and I made a day trip to Dullstroom and had lunch at Pickles and Things. We both had the parmesan and chorizo chicken. Not what was expected. The chicken breast was small, tough and dry. The chips a bit undercooked and the sauce a had a "burnt" flavor.

Must be a management problem, the waiters don't know what they are doing. Very bad service, with lack of communication with patrons. Despite the poor service the food was good.

We tried the haloumi stuffed trout, lamb curry, and kiddies cheese burger - everything was so good! The baked cheesecake was also one of the best we've ever had. And the friendly, efficient service made our first visit here perfect. Will definitely be back.
