Excellent service in laidback restaurant / gallery. Friendly staff, were happy to make 'fussy' orders (no tomato, no onions). Comfortable seating, delicious cakes. Roosterkoek is made fresh on the oven in the back (if you sit outside you can watch) and it is delicious. All food is available as a take-away for the same price.

10 out of 10 for effort and originality in this sleepy, laid back 'dorpie'. Service was excellent and accommodating. Although I can't say that this was the best food I have ever had, I would recommend stopping here and enjoying the excellent hospitality and a really cool, sweet homemade lemonade on the 'stoep'. You will get the real feel of... More

We had breakfast and I asked the waitress if the patty is big or small. She said it was medium with a cheese sauce and it was served on a roosterkoek with a bit of salad!! That was an understatement!!! the patty was thick and juicy with a wonderful cheese sauce and the salad was very tasty and super fresh.... More

We had visited this restaurant/shop many years ago and were delighted to see it is still thriving. We decided not to eat outside as the weather was not warm, but it was good to see the tables available in the rockery at the rear. We sat indoors by a delightful large painting ofa girl drinking from a pitcher and thoroughly... More

Firstly they have the best coffee in the Klein Karoo. The atmosphere is typical laid back and the setting unique. The food is great and Nicky and his staff provide a very good experience.

What an interesting Art Gallery come restaurant. Home cooked and unique SA spread of breads, wraps and other local delicacies which were fantastic. Fresh salads and local ingredients all extremely tasty. If you like lemon meringue this is the place and choice of deserts extensive. Robertson wines, not bad but limited selection. A great stop over en route to Oudsthoorn

If you're driving through, this spot comes highly recommended. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is laid back, coffee is great, and breakfast was excellent. The place is nicely decorated too. I'd say that this is the best spot to stop at in De Rust.

We had both lunch and breakfast at the Village Trading Post. Loved the food, the atmosphere and the warm fire. I will definitely return next time I am in De Rust.

We have popped in a few times over the past few years. Lovely owners. Interesting decor and nice to browse the items for sale.
