We stopped in for breakfast. The waitress was still half asleep.! The eggs were ok.The hash browns were frozen patties. Are you kidding me.This place needs work too. Just like the rest of the place.

We went early afternoon around 2pm and both ordered the chicken fried steak meal. It came with mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls. It was delicious! I was worried after reading the reviews but the food and service were both great!
We had lunch at Carsbad Caverns Resturant. It was OK but a little pricy for the quality of the food. No other place to eat at the caverns so you could eat before you go or have a light meal at a lower price.
Well on the good side, they really do seem to be trying their best, and the food is edible, err and that's it. So on the minus side, they are understaffed, when we showed up no tables were available, not that they were full but all...More
Restaurant empty. Horrible service. 15 minutes to get drinks. All food was frozen or from a box. Flautas were boxed taquitos. $50 for $5 worth of food. I've been in restaurant business for 18 years. This place all round deserves a -10. Restaurant empty for...More

We were confused until we saw Cactus Cafe on the menus. Service was good, people were friendly. Food was ok. Very convenient for those visiting the canyons. No competition.
My wife and I just visited the Carlsbad Caverns and were hungry for lunch before he got back on the road. So we are greeted with a cool alien statue outside of the restaurant. We ordered a lunch consisting of fresh soft shell tacos with...More
