They didn't have the goulash when we went, but i had the blackened salmon and my girlfriend had the steak. It was very good.

We liked the German decor and the quaint, old fashioned roadside feel of this restaurant, but the food fell short of our expectations. My cheesesteak was served on a garlic bread toasted roll which truly spoiled the otherwise excellent roast beef, onions and melted cheese filling. My husband ordered the turkey BLT - nice sandwich, but too much roll for... More
i use to eat at the carriage house frequently and the food, service and prices were great. last three times the food and prices were bad and the service horrible. i do hope it will regain it's past greatness in the near future
Stopped here with one of our children on a scenic drive up 97. Service was good, atmosphere was good, and food was good. You could tell that the place had a lot of history - and seemed like a lot of other guests came in while we were there. Beautiful views of the river - but when we went outside... More
My husband and I live in Sullivan County NY year-round. We have found this "gem" of a European-like restaurant in Barryville, NY. The dining room is vintage, large and feels warm and inviting (even though it is a large space). The music choices and speaker system are relaxing and enhance/blend nicely with dining, while the sound system is clear and... More
Sure they serve a fine plate of food but the waitress wasn't having one of her finest days. It's located at the crossroads of Barryville and this is a motel, restaurant and bar with inside and outside seating.

There were only a few diners the evening we visited and so we ate in the bar area which is very spacious with beautiful dark wood tables, etc. The bar area was the happy gathering place of a group of friends and so the place was... From the bread with three types of spreads to the Hungarian Tiramirsu and everything on the menu the food is really outstanding. Sitting in the bar room you would expect burgers and wings which you could get but why when the weiner schnitzel is so fresh and tender that you can cut it with a fork or surprise your senses... More
This restaurant has been serving fine food for quite awhile. Situated on the banks of the Delaware River couples and small parties can relax in a spacious dinning room sipping drinks while enjoying the pace of country living. The menu offers a wide selection of well prepared dishes, straight American and some delightful German/Hungarian choices. Our meal was well prepared... More
There is not much of a selection in Barryville for lunch or dinner. This restaurant offers a good selection of American and Hungarian foods. Salads are very big as are most of the portions. The Gypsy pork was really good. Spicey shrimp, just average. Breaded pork and Wiener Schnitzel very tender.
