Really love Pumpernickels. I have come here once a year for the past 10 years and every time the food has been great. Definitely not the nicest ambiance (except for the cookoo clock), but great authentic German food. I highly recommend the potato pancakes, spaetzle, and any schnitzel or pork dish. Also the beers here are awesome and huge!

This large restaurant has an excellent German menu with great breads and memorable Sauerbraten, Spätzle . Large dining are with a prominent carved cuckoo clock that must be at least 12 ft tall and was brought in from Germany by the owner. They often have music, a bier garten, and the mood is cheerful and light during their Ocktoberfest. Great... More

My sister had the sauerbraten and I was blown away by how good it was it was only missing some more ginger snaps in the sauce and it would have been perfection. (I make sauerbraten all the time from my grandmothers recipe from Germany). I had prime rib which was tender. Everyone else had the veal chop special. No complaints... More

One of my favorite restaurants in the Adirondacks. Authentic German food, great salad bar, large, generous portions and German Beer. Who could ask for anything more? The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home, and the comfortable atmosphere of the dining room adds to a pleasant dining experience.

I visited on a very busy night and waited an hour for a table but so did everybody else. I found it to be worth the wait. A cheerful and cozy dining room. Lots of conversation and laughter. As busy as they were, the service was great. They have a very capable and professional staff who handled the crowds well.I... More

Atmosphere is inviting (love the giant cuckoo clock) the service is friendly and efficient and the food is consistently very good. Shared the Mayor's Platter for Two, a combination of Sauerbraten, Weinerschnitzel, pork cutlets, potato pancakes, and Bratwurst, served with red cabbage, sauerkraut, spatzel, applesauce, and sour cream. More than enough for two people, and very tasty and you also... More

Fantastic experience. The food was great. The food was well made and very good. The beer was great and the service was outstanding. Sherry sauce was one of the best things that I have tasted at a German restaurant.

Refuse to serve us. Citing cut off sleeves, as the reason. Despite Male and Female patrons with tank tops being served.

Always looked forward to coming here. My last visit however was quite disappointing. The meals were not prepared as well as in the past. The potato pancakes were tough. The smoked pork chops were almost flavorless. Even the cuckoo clock wasn't working right. I hope they can return to what they were. For now, I'd have to say you can... More

I've been here a few times and the food is amazing. I'm always so full, but can't stop eating until it's all gone! The service is excellent, too. So friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this place.
