When we walked in we were not greeted but instead told go to the back. The back was a private room with a party we didn't belong to. After we were finally seated we waited about 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken. We then waited over 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we placed our order.... More

Louis is one of the oldest restaurant's in the area. They have good food, with a good portion. One draw back is they never give back to the steady customer's, not even with a glass of wine. I have been going there for over 25 years.

We have called into Louis several times over the past couple of years whilst sailing in the sound but never fancied dinning there. It always seemed quantity over quality. So this time we decided to give it a try. My friend & I only wanted a snack so we ordered the crab cakes. They came as a portion of two.... More

Enjoyed a great visit to this restaurant!! The service was very friendly and helpful in suggestions. We had a traditional NY pizza as an "appetizer." Wow was it good. Pizza just won't be the same anymore. For main courses I had the vodka penne and others had the lasagne and eggplant Parmesan. No one was disappointed. (Unless you consider it... More

I’ve been eating here since I was a little girl (over 30 years) and my father before that since he was little. The food and service are always consistent. I’ve yet to taste anything that compares to their sauce. Portions are on the larger side, so there’s always some to take home. You won’t leave hungry or disappointed!

This is without a doubt one of the finest, most consistent in terms of quality, quantity and service, restaurants in the country - period. I've eaten in some of the most acclaimed and widely recognized restaurants in the world. But, when I want excellent Italian food on par with the best - I go to Louie's. I've been coming here... Great Italian food, with a very big menu. This is the oldest restaurant in the Throggs neck section of the bronx, and still has the best food.
