We have been here several times for dinner and have always had excellent meals. I would highly recommend it , and I have many times.

In Oct 2020 we headed to Cazenovia to view area waterfalls and take in the fall foliage. A relative recommended Lincklaen House - we had dinner in the Tavern. Our server was cordial and efficient; our dinners were delicious. We would certainly recommend dining here;...and would be a repeat customer if in the area.More

We recently returned for dinner on the patio. Service was friendly and prompt, wine was varied and well priced. Appetizers were nicely prepared - baked brie with fresh berries was a hit and the popovers were freshly baked. My filet with sautéed spinach was simple...and delicious. The recommendations for desserts were Spot on too. Overall quality to price relationship was very favorable.More

Went on 7/26 for my husband's birthday as I had been there years before with outstanding service (although we were in the dining room - maybe that was the difference). We were seated out on the patio which was fine. Servers wore masks but no...gloves. This should be a no brainer with the times we are in. We ordered wine for each of us and saw etchings on the side of the wine glass, as a lot of restaurants use the same thing for measuring, but noted that the wine was not even up to the line for the regular pour on either of our glasses. We ordered a second glass and again it was under poured. We mentioned this to the server who just shrugged and stated that she doesn't pour the wine. We then asked if she could take it back to get additional pour for my husband and she said she would bring out the additional in a separate glass. We did not touch our wine until she returned, we poured the additional into my husband's glass and it barely came above the first etching line indicating that we were well underserved. You wouldn't mind normally if the wine was inexpensive, but at 14.50 for a larger serving of wine you get a little upset. The food, for us was mediocre. I wanted the rack of lamb and the baked brie which was shown on the internet as being items on their menu, but were not on the menu when we got there as was a lot of items missing that is shown on the internet. This was frustrating as we knew what we wanted to eat. So my husband and I had crab cakes and calamari for apps which were pretty good with a spicy dipping sauce for each, strip steak and Chicken Parm for dinner. Neither were something we would rush back for. The topping on the steak was not appetizing. And my chix parm was ordinary. I indicated to the server we were there for my husbands birthday figuring that just maybe he would get a treat. I ordered the brownie and ice cream when nothing was mentioned. It arrived with barely enough ice cream to have with the brownie and again was nothing outstanding. We then observed our server deliver a bowl of ice cream with a candle to another table and indicating to the table to be quiet for the surprise. So sorry, if you can do for one table, why not another? We will not rush back to this venue.More

I found this restaurant while staying in Cazenovia for a consulting job. It was during week 3 of mass quarantine. They had takeout and delivery service. The poutine fries was excellent and the Atlantic fish and chips was really good. My colleague had the seared...salmon which was “amazing”. Prices were very reasonable.More

Had dinner here in the tavern "Seven Stone Steps" 3 times this summer with various golf groups. Very broad menu. Reasonably priced and our groups were all happy with the meals and the service. Cozy small room in the cellar with a small bar. I...have not tried the upstairs dining room with the white table cloths, but I nderstand the menu is the same. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. HIghly recommmended.More

We had a late lunch, after the bunch crowd left. Basic historic room past the bar, with nice service. Amazing popovers served hot with a honey butter and jam. Light as a cloud. Then I had a favorul brisket sandwich with home made chips. My...friend had quiche and a salad. We were both very happy.More

Love the atmosphere in this basement pub...especially in the winter with the fireplace going. Food is always above average, but not incredible. It’s better and has much more variety than typical pub food for sure.

Had to do a lot of digging to find a pet friendly hotel in the area. What a gem. If you love independent hotels, this one is keeping up with the old traditions. Grand lobby, two restaurants (one fine dining the other a tavern) and...a breakfast/ outdoor patio too. Yes, there are no elevators, yes the floorboards creek, but it has charm and spirit. Room was spacious, tv, bathroom, desk etc... spent 3 nights. Restaurant food quality was above average (had rack of lamb). Wine choices so so, breakfast continental...an okay. It’s a two min walk to the lake. So much to do in the area, including a 1.3 hr drive to Cooperstown, glimmerglass park, red barn brewery....green lake state park and more.More
