Stopped here on my journey down the picturesque A272 for a spot of lunch. Initial impressions were very good, quick to be attended to and after a few minutes to peruse the menu the order was taken. So far so good. Not quite sure how long it takes to cook a bacon sandwich some chips and a cream scone. But... More

As regular visitors to both the cafe and farm shop we were disappointed with our last visit. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken when there were at least 5 waiting staff on duty, the cafe was not full. We received our napkins and cutlery only to be told a few minutes later that the kitchen was... More

Excellent light lunch choices at Cowdray Cafe. You can't book a table but it is rarely more than a 10 minutes wait. Lots of outdoor seating in good weather.

The farm shop has some excellent, tasty produce. Yes it's expensive, it's a deli after all and not a supermarket, but each item has clearly been personally selected and it's all of high quality. We made a very tasty antipasti meal from what we bought there. Other shops in the courtyard include a wine shop and juice bar, all adding... More

I have been here sometime ago with my husband. Service was so disgusting we walked out! I was a bit dubious meeting my daughter there because if this but oh how wrong I could be. It was busy as such a glorious day. A new system from my last visit and I simply cannot fault it. Customer service was above... More

Not cheap, but we like good quality food. The pork pies are the best I have ever tasted (and I used to live near Melton Mowbray. Venison leg steaks are very good at reasonable cost. Their bacon is really dry-cured. The cafe serves delicious coffee and tasty meals. WiFi is free.

Such a wonderful relaxing place. Excellent service with excellent food. The menu changes regulary so it is not boring. Lovely area to walk afterwards which is also suitable for people with dogs. Can't wait to go again.

I met my son at the cafe as it is about half way between both our homes. The service we received was lovely. The girls were all very friendly and professional, smiling and chatting long enough to make us feel welcome (even with the dog). It was a lovely sunny day so it was a pleasure to sit outside, there... More

We had a walk around Cowdray Park followed by Sunday lunch at the cafe. They were very friendly and the meal was reasonable, but not outstanding.

There is a lot going for this café restaurant: clean, bustling, cheerful, full of diners with a menu of variety & imagination. No reservations, so it's first come first served. The staff are very busy and can be a little brusque. We were three for lunch, but only had to wait a few minutes. The Eggs Royale (poached egg smoked... More
