A nice restaurant in a lovely inn with a picturesque setting. The food and service are excellent. American food with Swedish specialties.

We recently went here for dinner. We sat outside with our dog and had a few drinks first. The drinks were both just bar drinks so nothing special. We then had the cheese plate. It was good, but was odd in that contained three soft...More

We were there a week or so ago for my Fiance's birthday. The pros- Food was great. We had the Frisee salad with gorgonzola, apples and walnuts and it was perfect. Not swimming in dressing but just right. The entrees we chose were the black...More

I am a local resident and have been to most of the many restaurants in the area. The living room, which is expensive, offers very few choices, small portions, and quality is only fair. Instead of herbs and seasonings, everything is drenched in butter or...More

The Maidstone Inn is a staple for East Hampton. The living room's food is terrific, very friendly staff. Best of all are their desserts. Normally one is shared, but not on the night we dined there. We each had our own.

I've been to the Living Room several times and the food is just not good. Pork Tacos as an appetizer were bland & shrimp salad was not fresh. The main course of duck breast lacked flavor but a sea bass dish was better. Toffee Cake...More

Had dinner with a friend. Food is supposed to be "new Swedish", but actually isn't. I had Swedish meatballs, but nothing to write home about. My friend had duck, which was prepared French style with an orange sauce. His dish was better.

The place is beautifully done and the servers were knowledgeable and good. The food was tasty but the portions were too small. Two of the people at my party had the cavatelli and it came in what looked like an appetizer bowl. My lamb was...More

Unfortunately our lunch was very disappointing. The service was slow and the waiter seemed to be inexperienced. In my opinion he should have been able to handle the few tables he had without to much difficulty. We both had the seasonal soup and a caesar...More

At the Living Room, we identify the freshest and most naturally produced foods, creating world-class menu selections from what can be purchased through local, organic producers. This is the slow-food philosophy at work, and we believe it makes for the best-tasting meals in the Hamptons. Our chef uses the slow-food process to "cook with the seasons", coming up with mouth-watering menus of cuisine he calls "new American with a Scandinavian twist". Signature dishes include Scandinavian classics like Toast Skagen and exquisite desserts like Spring Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with homemade honey vanilla gelato and Catapano Goat Cheese Tarte with homemade lingonberry sorbet. To complement, you can choose from more than 200 vintages from our extensive wine cellar. From local Long Island varietals to organic Oregonian boutique blends and standards from Europe, there is a wine for every mood and food at The Living Room.
