We often go to this small intimate neighborhood restaurant. Always enjoyed the food and the service. I understand the owner is from Venice so they tend to have a Northern Italian menu, polenta which I love etc.
My entire family rave about this place too.
Every Christmas and Mother's Day, wife and I visit the graves of relatives at Calvary I, Calvary II, St. Michael's and St. John's. This time, based on TripAdvisor reviews, we visited Il Poeta after St. John's and were extremely pleased.
On street parking is free...and convenient.
Ambiance is excellent.
Service was great, always available but never rushed.
Food was superb, starting with something as simple as the bread and lentils with garlic in olive oil, followed by fried calamari [with red and with tartar sauce], veal bosciola for me, chicken spezzatina for wife, shared tort with ice cream dessert and two excellent hot espressos.
And the price was quite reasonable, especially considering the bottle of Prosecco we had with the meal.
The food served here is just delicious, scrumptious, the service is really good as well, you get your money’s worth and is a family ambience! Highly recommended if you want to eat gourmet food at an affordable price.
Went for dinner with family and friends. Hector was our assigned waiter. In a word Excellent. Clean and warm family feel to a small, intimate space. Excellent wine selection. Great appetizers served piping hot. Main course selections were ample with added specials to round out...your choices. Recommend you try the lentil soup, baked calms, any pasta dish. Tried salmon. Cooked well. Spinach was limp with no real taste.More
