When visiting friends in the Northern Catskills region, they made reservations for dinner at Ruby's Hotel, telling me and my companion that it was a quiet jewel in the area. They were completely accurate. Ruby's Hotel is an assuming funky restaurant with a great staff and amazing food. As if that is not enough, the prices are will below anything... More

What we expected. First rate food and service. Lovely location beside a quiet stream. Tables are a bit crowded in a quaint old building. You pay for what you get. That seems fair to me. Six of us. No deserts. $240 w/tip. One of my "go to" places.

We have lived in the Catskills about 30 minutes away from Ruby's for over 20 years. Somehow we missed hearing about Ruby's, and that is just sad. The atmosphere is great from the art work on the wall to the deco bar. A simple place with great food. Ruby's will be a favorite from now on.

Ana & Frank are true artisan's. Ana teaches food in NYC and Frank is a well-known ceramic artist of tiles and especially UDU drums. Together they have crafted a gem in Freehold, NY. Restaurant, art space, jazz & creative music nights are their specialty. We’ve known Ana & Frank since 2007, and while they are great friends, they are true... More

We live in the city and visit the Catskills on the weekends. We always try to eat at Ruby's when we can and we take all of our out-of-town guests there. Ana, the owner/chef, is creative and incredibly talented. She uses lots of fresh vegetables and herbs that she grows in her garden and she features seasonal and local ingredients... More

This is more of a response to the last reviewer. I've been here several times, as my family has a country home nearby (we live in the city). The family that owns and runs this restaurant is great; the food is always fresh (and freshly cooked); the menu changes all the time, and seasonal items are placed and removed on... More

I now know of exactly two restaurants where no walk ins are accepted - The Polo Bar recently opened by Ralph Lauren near 5th Avenue in Manhattan and Ruby's. We arrived at the restaurant just after 7PM. About 1/3 of its seats empty and were told that we could not dine there that evening. The manager said that he had... More

Unique and truly fine dining (stuffed lilies are not to be found on every street corner!) with a lively ambiance and fun and friendly staff.

Wow! Small. Looks like not much from outside. Better inside. Then the food. 3 of us split the crab cakes and a serving of fried lily blossoms. 1 had corn chowder. The warm bread arrived before the appetizers. The appetizers were outstanding. The dinners arrived together. Hot. On hot plates. Their idea of steak medium rare and mine coincide exactly.... More

Our friends live in Catskill and told us about this wonderful place but we had no idea it would be so special. Imagine the most cozy, cute, picturesque, little stop on the road, and then add great drinks, special food, and a relaxing atmosphere. GO if you're even close! You won't forget it...
